I love my hubby (no, seriously) We're getting to the real nitty gritty bits of planning and I'm being met with 'the look' every time something needs sorting out - so once again I turn to you beautiful ladies!

We've got to the gift list side of things and I've got a short list of 3 places I'd like to use - Debenhams, Next and Peter Maturi (kitchen shop)
Have any of you used or are going to use any of these? How did you find the service? Was it easy to use? Would you recommend them?

I might just use Peter Maturi alongside whichever store I choose........that Gaggia coffee machine WILL be mine hehe

"The course of true love never runs smoothly"
But if it had been easy then we wouldn't love each other as
much as we do right now - 1 week to go :D

I haven't personally used any of them as we are not doing one but I would say that you could have all three of them so the guests have a choice as you can easily run out of items in one place that suits every one's price range. Have you considered asking for gift vouchers or money as you will find that you can get more for your money that way than paying marked up prices in the main stores that provide gift lists?

Hahah your h2b has a "look" too - mine has one of those ;p

Can't help with the gift list as we've asking for donations towards weddings/honeymoon, but I'd agree that it might be an idea to setup one with all 3, give people more choice :-)

when i put this to mr lala ( about having a gift list ) he said no dont just let people give what they want ....i did point out that
1, at my former wedding i got 3 BBQ`s and 19 sets of towels
2, that his mother is a skinflint and we would get something cheap from the local market

I feel like a total dumb-bum now, no idea why I never thought of having more than 1 place (can I use baby brain as an excuse here? lol)

I'll look into that Mara - thank you for the heads up!

we've gone with a honeymoon gift list/registry.......people donate towards our honeymoon. We felt it makes more sense as we have everything for the home etc etc really. Otherwise it would have been john lewis or debs x x x x

We're looking at Debenhams, just because I want to be able to kit the house out in better than we have - or with things that I really want for my kitchen but can't really justify the cost of buying ourselves when we have kids - silly things like an egg poacher, which might seem odd but the one I've seen is £30 - reasonable enough, but when I look at it I see new school coats or a school trip... :P x
