We have picked our first dance song (Faith of the Heart by Rod Stewart) but I am a bit concerned about our first dance now. My h2b doesn't really dance, more of a shuffle - at a push! I don't want to just shuffle in front of our nearest and dearest on the big day and I'm not one for these routines that some couples do. Is anyone getting dance lessons for their first dance?

yep me!! i really aint a great dancer, my h2b gets so nervous that he ends up stepping on me or falling over with him still holding on to me so to avoid damage to the dress and our dignity we are having dance lessons haha. we choose The Beatles - In My Life, for our first song :) xx

I have no idea what to do about this. My oh has no sense of rhythm at all and I have two left feet! I do zumba and am continuously going in the opposite direction to everyone else! We think we will probably have Adele make you feel my love. x

we're having You & Me by Lifehouse and we're definitely having dancing lessons. It's in 3/4 time so you can't really shuffle about to it! I don't want a routine or anything but my zumba instructor is a ballroom dancing teacher and she's going to teach us how to move about gracefully to the music - here's hoping!!!

I think a bit of a shuffle a little kiss is exactly what everyone wants to see. I mean each to their own but to me the first dance is when me and h2b can share a little bit of live with no interuptions and if all we do is shuffle then who cares.

We had a couple of dance lessons, but the teacher didn't really "get" what we wanted ... so we turned to Dance Central and it was perfect - we had "Word Up!" by Cameo :-)

We aren't having a first dance, or at least not one in front of everyone. We have a two staged approach to our wedding, and our first is a reception at the local Harvester, where there isn't a lot of space or music and lots of complete strangers. We may have our own little dance when we get home

My H2B can't dance, he gives it a good go though! Very funny to watch bless him. But no we are not taking dance classes we are just going to put the song on and practice a few times in the privacy of our own home x

We were worried and had a go in the lounge, ended up changing our song twice as the slower ones were harder, in the end had 'I do I do I do' by Abba which was a bit easier to trot around to and put in a few spins :-) My advice is have a few drinks first and instruct the dj to get everyone else on after a minute or so!

    xx

I was thinking of getting lessons (Our first dance is to the acoustic version of Bon Jovi - Always) mentioned this idea to H2B and he really don't want to do it. He has no rhythm and I really don't want our first dance to be reminiscent of a high school disco lol. Might have to trick him into it...if anyone has any ideas how I could do this feel free to share lol
