    Hi All

Just a quick question really, i dont want any traditional wedding cake (im not traditional in the slightest) and i love chocolate so im going for a meeting with the famous chocolate cake shop in brighton that you see on TV. not sure if i can say it on here,

have any of you ladies been there? tried the cakes or have seen them at a wedding?
or are any of you using them for your cake?

    thanks.

I've not used them and I don't know anyone who has, but I just want to say that I would think they would be super expensive as they really are very famous, I think your budget would need to be very big :-) and I'm so jealous if it is. Loads of bakeries can do similar stuff that is much cheaper. Well anyway I am jealous!

I would strongly advise tasting them, as I know a few people who've had them at weddings and said the taste was awful and the sponge really hard; I think it's to do with the thickness of the chocolate and the cake having to be able to support it or something.

I was looking at them, because I think they're pretty cool, but this made me rule them out straight away. So, def do a tasting and also search the 'net for reviews :-)

I do know they are very expensive. A friend of mine had a quote for a b'day party and I was amazed at the cost.

They do look really amazing though!!!

Omg the cakes are amazing. My friend got me one for my birthday a few years ago. I wanted one for the wedding but got quoted £1200 for the one I wanted and I couldn't afford it.

I am going to have some of their chocolate for our sweet table instead xx

thanks all, i'm going on the 8th of december for the meeting and tasting as i want a winter wonderland all double chocolate cake with berries and fake snow and all wintery really. and yeah i know its expensive but i've been looking around and been quoted £600+ for a standard 4 tier chocolate cake so if its another £400-600 at least it will have a wow factor.
and i will be sure to let you all know how it goes and what we go with. so so exciting.
