I think that the change in points is more advanced. It's better to give food point values on protein, fat, carbs and fibre than cals and saturated fat.

I love the new points system, im finding it sso much easier to live with. That extra 49 points is like a safety net! You dont have to starve yourself all week just so you can eat at that family meal out later in the week.

I bought a recipie book last night too. For breakfast we had eggy bread with bananas...it was lovely and only 4 points....yum yum

Managed to eat most of my extra 49 ww points in two days so having to be good till Wednesday now lol. Didn't help eating half a tub of phish food one evening, several glasses of wine on a few evenings, indian takeaway friday night, bacon and eggs for breakfast at the weekend and sharing half a packet of tortilla chips with salsa dip lol. Sigh - wish I could eat whatever I liked and not put on weight, problem is I LOVE my food too much!! Have just bought the new ww cookery book so will try to make some of the recipes in there. We had carrot and butternut squash soup yesterday which is only 1 point, and turkey meatballs with pasta last night - it was lovely :-)

Lol, it's so frustrating isn't it! I try to be good during the day and usually have fruit for breakfast which is 0 points, or a slice of toast with low fat marg & marmite and a banana as that isn't many points. After my 1st cup of tea when I get up (with skimmed milk), I try to drink fruit tea the rest of the day (0 points). For lunch I either have salad with ham, chicken or tinned salmon, or home made ww soup (butternut squash soup or veg - 0 points). If I snack in the day I try to eat fruit, but sometimes have tesco light snack crisps (3 points), or a biscuit. The hard bit is trying not to eat more than one lol. If I am good during the day, I then have most of my points left for dinner when I eat with my h2b as we don't always eat healthily lol (as you can see from my last post). My weight is dropping very slowly but at least I'm not gaining! The secret is sticking with it and not cheating as you are only cheating yourself at the end of the day lol. Also, if you write down everything you eat you can keep track of the points you've had as it's easy to underestimate what you've eaten. Keep up the good work Abi, you can do it xxx

P.s if you like cooked breakfasts, it's much healthier to grill bacon rather than fry, and I usually do poached egg rather than fried :-)

Update for me - finally lost some more inches. Stopped measuring myself when I got disheartened at nothing happening, but went to try my dress on again and it was looser everywhere :-)

Now I have to maintain this size with 8 months to go! - eeek!

I missed weight watchers this week but weighed myself at home. Apart from a couple of days (when I used up most of my extra points), I was good so I was gutted when I had put on 1lb :-( Hope next week is better. Although I am quite happy with my weight, I would like to loose an extra 7 lbs but it just doesn't seem to be happening - I have maintained my current weight for the past 4 months, just going up or down a couple of pounds each week but can't get to my final goal. Not sure what I am doing wrong, could it be I am my 'correct' weight so my body won't loose any more??

I weighed myself when i came home after giving birth to my daughter in october and i was 14 stone 7 pounds and as i was breast feeding i was steadly loosing weight because of it as i wasnt doing any excercise then xmas came and i put on 4lbs which i suppose isnt bad considering it was xmas but now ive started to watch what im eating and cutting out snacking in between meals and ive started loosing 2 pounds each week since the end of Jan!! Im hoping to get down to a size 12 at least as im currently a 16 on the bottom half and i really want to get down to my target weight of 10 stone at first and then i'll see what i look like and if im not happy then maybe loose another half stone. Im 5ft 6? What does everyone think? Is it too much or ok?

Losing weight can often feel like an up hill battle - in part because we make it hard for ourselves by expecting too much too quickly. The truth is there really is no quick fix for weight loss. The fact is that the body can only break down around 1-2lbs (1kg) of body fat in a week, which is where the advice to lose around 1lb (0.5kg) a week comes from. That way you are just losing the fatty bits that you don't want and none of your muscle and lean parts that are really quite important.

If you do drop weight too fast you will not be losing body fat, but will shed fluids and lean tissue and will quite simply just put it all back on again.

All of the ‘lose a stone in a fortnight by only eating grapefruits' types of diets may help you to shift a pound or two quickly but they will not help you to lose the body fat, and then keep it off! In fact, the quick weight loss diets are shown to upset your metabolism so that it actually makes it harder to lose weight in the long run.

    Hi Clarabella

Im similar to you in weight (but with out the excuse of a baby!! ) id love to be a size 10 but i can't remember ever being that size, i have allways been a size 12/14 (i have a hourglass figure so the top and bottom are usually similar in size) the diet is now on!! and would love to get back to a size 12/14, the point i am trying to make is your bodys shape i think defines how much weight you should loose i know if i get down to 11 stone (i have done once along time ago lol) i look a bit poorly i had a big a*%e and big boobs a tiny waist and a thin face it looked all wrong very odd and people commented that i looked gaunt so depending on what shape you are sometimes a little weight looks good monitor the way you feel and ask your mum or dad they will usually tell you the truth if they say ur looking a little to thin then you can eat more of those choccies lol Good Luck!!!
