    Me & H2B are about to start the weight loss challenge. More him than me though, I just need to work away Xmas!! :/

    Anyways need help with H2B

    His job means he sits at a desk all day long literally 12 hours then when he's back he's on the computer at home.
    He's 5ft 11 and weighing 17st at the moment.

    I'm trying to think of how to get that down quite a bit... he put the majority of it on a few years ago when made redundant from his job... His weight is a sore issue, he wants to rectify... I don't wanna sound like i'm being really pushy with him though :/ Not sure how to start, we can't afford to join weight watchers etc.

    Any help would be greatly appreciated

    since new year i have been making homemade smoothies with fruit and juice for breakfast, home made vegetable soup for lunch (i take it to work in a flask, then dinner is lots of veg and meat and a few potatoes or salad anf chicken. Ive also cut out tea and coffee and replaced it with fruit teas and 2 litres of water. Im not trying to loose weight, just be healthier and i feel great.

    Went to Slimming World last night and got the books :0) Didn't like the group though (full of moaning middle aged women -not my thing!) so will just do it on my own at home I think :)

    On the upside I thought I weighed 10 stone 3lb and I when they weighed me I was 9st 10lb!

    So starting weight 9st 10lb
    Height 5ft 4in

    Target weight 9st 4lb

    Target weight loss 6lb in 2 months - doable I hope!

    I'm going to use you girlies on here as my substitute SW group! x

    Bah - time for me to hit the "no loss" week - Biggest l o s e r was right - you definitely get a week where nothing happens

    Start = Breast 35", Waist 29", Hips 41"
    Today = 34", Waist 27", Hips 40"
    Loss this week = nothing :-( (in fact gained 0.5" on my hips)

    I don't know how Slim fast are still going. It's complete rubbish. You'd be better making your own soup and having that for lunch and then having a healthy breakfast and dinner and snacks. Maybe it will work for you but it seems to go against any healthy nutritionist advice. Be careful hn it made me so ill.

    The fact that they have been on the go for so long is what made me think it may work. I'm going to try the stuff I've got and see what they're like.

    I really need something to kick start me in the right direction. I'm going to the gym 5 times a week, swimming 4 times and 3 classes so I should be seeing results but I've only lost 2lbs so far. I used to go to WW but I'm not convinced I need to pay £20 a month for someone to weigh me when I can get my OH to make me feel guilty every week.

    Despite not loosing much weight, I do feel loads better. I'm cycling everywhere I can too and it's getting easier every day. And my legs are looking slimmer =)

    Weigh in tonight!! I'm quite excited.

    I dont feel like ive really been on a diet though. I didnt use all my points and i even had a burgerking within my points... i found myself eating more yesterday just to use up some of my weekly points because i'd only used 10 and it reset today.

    Is anyone else doing weightwatchers?

    Does anyone else think that the change in points is more of a money making thing than anything else?

    My friend still goes (I left before Xmas) and she says that with the new points she gets to eat more. This in turn means that she is loosing weight more slowly (1lb a week compared to 2lbs a week before) so will take longer to reach goal and get free meetings.

    Also, with a change in the system, there are new books etc which most people will want to buy.

    I'm just curious to see what everyone else thinks?

    i dont think it was a moneymaking scheme when u think about how much science has advanced since points were introduced 15 years ago , i think it is getting ahead of other slimmin companies by implementing changes that recognise the new reasearch, weightwatchers is such a big global company that they would not put in place a diet that doesnt work , they have reasearched it for 4 years before releasing it to the genral public too. also you can choose not to use your weekly points which will increase weightloss, but the weekly points make things more livable for our modern lifestyles i think xx
