Wedding Forum - The Big Day!!! With piccies!...

Well it was no picnic but turned out alright in the end!

Went to the venue the night before as we'd been assured we could set up early, we set the room up just needed to drop the cake off in the morning and the darts team walked in. The woman captain refused to use the dart board in another room and put the tables back. Cue PANIC!!!!

Well had to get up early anyway, but trying to get myself and the 2 little ones ready was a nightmare, couldn't get into the club until 10am and the wedding was at 12 so everything was a big rush and I was still taking out my curlers when my car arrived, hence my hair is not how I wanted to wear it but just shoved up quick so I could get on my dress and go. Traffic was terrible but we were only 5 mins late (although Chris was starting to panic a little!). Service was good and the kids were quite well behaved, there was a very funny bit when the congregation are supposed to answer "we will", a second later like an echo my 2 page boys said "we will" really loud! Although I had a giggling fit at the rehearsal I didn't laugh in the service but it was quite nerve racking with everyone there and I'm not sure they could hear me at all!

I still didn't manage to get all the pictures I wanted (even though I'd asked the girl taking the pics the day b4) and everyone kept pushing us towards the car, probably because of the time, but the buffet wasn't being served till 2 so we ended up hanging around the club bar for almost 45 mins. But the weather stayed fine until 7pm and everyone had enough to eat and seemed happy enough. My brother-in-law did a quiz but instead of being a compere (don't know why I thought he'd do it like that) he had 2 sheets of paper with questions to fill in as teams and it went down very well!

All in all, an excellent day! And, yes, I know I sound like I'm whinging a bit but several girls on here said they wanted to know what could've been improved on the day so they could, hopefully, stop it happening on their day.

I did enjoy it and if you take stock of everything, you'll realise that you can't control so many things, so just relax and let the day carry you through. I don't think I've ever smiled so much in my life!!!

The best thing was looking around and seeing everything that I had made, it was totally personal to me, from buttonholes and bouquets to waistcoats and dresses, even the order of service, favours and cake! That really made the day for me!
