I just thought I would let you know there seems to be a bit of a going on over FB regarding a particular videographer who has been selling his services for £99 (for the gold package) Apparently they have not been showing up and refusing refunds. Now I am not sure if this is just a disgruntled customer trying to ruin a persons business, but thought I'd best let you know as a couple of people on FB have said they are con artsists etc. I have booked this particular company for my wedding in Apr 2013 and will not be cancelling due to this as I have faith in people to do the job they have been hired to do. Now if they decide not to show on my wedding day I have wedding insurance and I paid on my credit card so I should be covered on all angles.
I am also aware a few of you have also booked them, so just be aware of this and make sure you are covered if anything goes wrong. Hopefully nothing will!

I have also seen whats been going on on facebook with it. To be honest I think the woman complaining is in the wrong, but the way the company have handled it is disgusting. I wouldn't be booking with them now even if I could (already married now so irrelevant haha).
All the petty childish remarks and photos the owner has put up is awfully unprofessional. I even told him via pm that I understand hes annoyed his son got brought into it but 1. if his son is so young he shouldnt have a facebook anyway, and 2. rant and rave all you like on your personal facebook but your business one is getting clogged up with pathetic rants! He said that its done better business for him!? Don't believe him.
The thing is, he's refusing to pay back £99 if thats the deal you booked, but I was well aware when I enquired that the £99 is a deposit and full payment in one so you wouldn't get it back, as it is a deal.
He's throwing court threats here there and everywhere but I don't think he realises how petty it would make him look in court. His wife on her page isn't much better.
I think after all thats gone on, I wouldn't even be relying on my wedding insurance.. Because the insurance is there to claim back after the event for money lost, so if he doesn't show, then yes, you'd get your money back, but you also wouldn't have the video/photo's.

I've seen all of this too, personally I never booked him as I thought there was something dodgy about him. Have to say though he is doing himself no favours by putting all the stuff up on facebook. It is very unprofessional if you ask me, and it would be that that stopped me booking him, not the bad reviews. Hopefully they aren't true as I know a lot of ladies on here have booked him for their weddings xxx

Oh he has commented on the issue millz... he is acting like a 13 year old who hasn't got his own way... posting petty pictures to prove a point with sarcastic comments etc, threatening legal action on the wall etc.
Doesn't come across as professional at all, not to mention the fact that a few ladies on here have seen his photo's and think they are shocking.. red eye on most!
And the trailers they do are tacky with horror music to the back?! Don't know what the full thing is like though! xx

I looked at booking them but in a video of them filming he was wearing a black t-shirt with bright White writing on the back and it really put me off as would stand out like a sore thumb, he could wear a suit and look smart !! At least £99 is not alot of money if he isnt turning up, i know its not the point but not £1000's and wedding insurance will cover it xxx

Well he has replied to me and in my opinion was very rude with it. I informed him I was not going to be booking with him but felt that I should tell him he was coming off unprofessionaly with the way he was handling the situation and would lose business from it and he replied "she is the only one who made this public, i am not fighting for a business thats no longer there, she did her job very well, so i would not take your work on to do anyway as i now have no reason too, but thanks"

I think thats how it started but then others have come up and basically they have told people they wanted paying via bank transfer which can't be reversed or claimed on etc. then they havent shown up at a few weddings etc.

I also read with amazement how unprofessional his comments were. to engage in this kind of tit for tat is beyond and beneath me.......in my professional capacity........I can F and blind along with the next person if its not.

I haven't seen what's going on here, and nor do I want to, but unfortunately, you won't be covered on your credit card with the £99 as they will only cover purchases up to £100. you will have to be dependant on your wedding insurance for this.
I'm probably being a tad cynical here, but I *suspect* that is why it is only £99.

To be perfectly honest, when I began wedding photography, yes I did it cheaper than others because I wanted to build my portfolio, and also It felt wrong to charge a lot of money for the pictures I took as I was only just starting out..... BUT EVEN THEN......I wouldnt leave the house for £99.......I mean c'mon, thats less than minimum wage when you break it down into the hours spent, and then the travel costs taken out of it. I went to a business class and was basically told NOT to go too low in price, because people either suspect you are cheap because you are crap, or that you will just take the money and run......I believe he could be one of those.....

I always had a feeling that he was dodgy and I wasn't impressed with his work at all. My h2b is a media student and described his work as extremely amature, and his photos aren't much better, red eyes is the biggest no no out there and he put up a photo with red eyes! (Anne, I saw your comment on this picture and did have a little giggle to myself!) Unfortunately, I think he is one of these people who buy the equipment and then feel they can say they are a professional, when they aren't xxx

Oh no, I really feel for the people who have already booked him as it must be worrying that it might be a scam. I was very tempted by this deal as our budget just won't stretch to a videographer and this seemed the ideal way to get one.
But then there was something that put me off, it just felt too good to be true and like linzi jo, I just wasn't that impressed with his work. I really hope that this is resolved for all the people who have booked him, cx.

having had dealings with him and his wife and also the brides he has let down I would say steer clear, also avoid ordering any stationary from the wife as there are a large number of people losing moneythere due to 'lost' orders and shoddy work . I have also had random abusive messages off her and her friends and legal threats off the pair off them, which is how they have managed to get away with this for so long - using threats.

I am so relieved I didn't book this company.
I was very close to booking him but just before I thought I'd do it I had a bad feeling and then all the FB stuff started. I thought, if a written agreement/T&C's are not sent to me before I make payment there must be something not right so decided to not do it. Now very very pleased I didn't wire over £99 direct to his bank account.
I hope that for everyone who has booked though that he turns up and gives you a good service and product. xx

I looked at this company when they were mentioned on here a while ago, then saw that they were posting their link on other professionals walls - that is a really unprofessional thing to do so I didn't even look any further based purely on that!

I just don't know what to do now - we were offered the package for £200 as we missed the `£99 deal' - so I have already paid £100 of it but now I'm not sure whether I should take the chance and pay the other hundred ( we don't have insurance to cover the cost if he doesn't turn up) or just cancel, lose the £100 I've already paid and not have a videoographer at all. I'm so confused! X

Cheryl22 - you can get wedding insurance for around £20 which in my eyes is £20 very well spent! At least this way you will be covered. Also - If you do it through Quid co (cashback site) you'll get cashback on your purchase of it!! lol!

Cheryl, if you want to be covered for things you have already booked you are looking around £80 (this is what we will need to pay as have already booked the church and venue). As for paying the rest of the money, that is up to you. He has obviously turned up to some of the brides weddings as they have been filmed, so its up to you whether you want to take the risk or not. Also, if you payed for him using credit card that should cover you if he doesnt turn up xxx
