i found out last night that the hairdresser who's meant to be doing our hair on the day is going to work on a cruise ship and won't be able to do our hair she never told me this i found it out from all her friends, so now i've gota find a new hairdresser talking about being a bit p ee d off :(

Have you talked 2 HER babe. Yes all her friends have said this but she might have arranged something so she can still do your hair. I always go to the person involved before jumping to conclusions. After all friends can jump to the wrong ones. Talk to her before you panic babe. And if its true, let her know how dissapointed you are that you had to find out from a 3rd person. THEN panic :-) Then come on here and we'll help you find one.

no i didn't have my trial done she was going to do that a week before the wedding, iv'e just put on my facebook status to see if anyone knows anyone so got my fingers crossed someone can help me and the person who was meant to be doin my hair is on my facebook so she'll prob see it aswel. x
Hay a week beofre for your trial is quite near. What if u dont like it and want to try something else? Im going for another trial (my 2nd one) next week. xx

i know thats what thought when she said she'll do it a week before am not having her now am on the hunt for another hairdresser and hails i had a look on her facebook and she's put she's goin to be working on a cruise ship for 5months and she'll be going in the next couple of weeks i just wish she would of told me xx

aww hunni, im in the same boat but the other way around i work in a hairdressers and one of the girls thinks she doing it, but im thinking of leaving hairdressing and doing another career. i dont really want her to do it but not sure if to just leave the job when i do and not say anything more and hope she dosent get in touch or if to tell her. i dont want them to no im wanting a different job coz i dont want them to turn on me, like they did to a previous girl that was there help

She should have told you BUT you should have spoken to her and got it straight from the horse's mouth before you started posting things on Facebook especially given that she's on your friend list.
I'm going to play devil's advocate for a moment - my mum is a hairdresser and my brother is a qualified beauty thrapist ergo I know what I'm talking about. It's not an opinion though, just something to think about. Ladies that work in a salon tend to work for peanuts and most of the time it's tips that make up wages. To her you're just another client coming in for a hair-do, doesn't matter if it's wedding hair, that fact is irrelevant to her/the salon. On a 5 month cruise she can probably earn double what she'd earn a year in a salon, then with the astronomical tips she'll be quids in. She gets to see the world and get paid for doing it! Not only that, if she proves her worth then she'll end up being offered a long term contract. So, she can stay behind, miss the opportunity and career prospect of a lifetime to do your wedding hair OR she can 'let you down' knowing full well that you can walk into just about any salon and get someone else to do it.
When you look at it like that, as much of a pain in the bum as it is to you, can you honestly get too peeved with her? It sounds like she's trying to further her career which really isn't as selfish as you might think it is. And in all fairness, your trial was a week before your wedding, if she made a hash of it and you weren't happy you really would have been up the creek without a paddle! You've got plenty of time to find another hairdresser, this is just another minor glitch in the happy world of wedding planning. Yes, she or the salon should have told you but I do think good for her for trying to better herself

kerrylou am not so bothered about her letting me down as i know there is a load more people out there who will be able to do it it's the fact she never told me as she's known about it for about a month now and as for posting things on facebook it was nothing nasty or anything i only put i'm looking for a hairdresser to do mine, 3 bridesmaids and flower girls hair for my wedding in july if anyone knows of anyone! i never got her from a salon either as she's a friend who works in the pub we always go to i've seen her loads of time whilst she's known about working on this cruise ship so she's had loads of times where she could of told me and anyway i've spoke to her now and she said she is sorry for not letting me know, i'm happy for her to be working on a cruise ship and she also knows i posted that status on facebook cos i told her and she's fine with it!!!

thanks suzi am sure i will av been on the phone quite abit today trying to find someone but up to yet they are either to expensive or booked up as my wedding is only 4 months today, im just waiting for a friend to give me a number whos doin her hair for her wedding n gona try her x
