Thomas Cook are ruining my wedding. I will not tell anyone anything good about thomas cook im sick to the back teeth of how they are treating us. We have paid alot of money for our wedding a get treated like dirt and called liars from head office. We or any body i know or meet will know how bad they are and i hope they never use them again. What you see in the brochure is upto to them what u get at the time so dont be fooled. I will be taking things further than head office once i get back. We should be happy about our wedding not upset :(

Everything :( if we had not paid the money i would cancel it. The brochure i booked from was the wrong one they had on shelf so the wedding package i paid for i dont get cos of there mistake. So i now have to pay alot of money to decorate the location because they took that option out of the next brochure. I asked abot the gazebo and got told many different things and when i raised this with head office they said ive not spoke to anybody abot this. So im a liar Now :( We could book our seats on plane 90 days b4 only to go on website 94 days b4 to find half the plane already booked!!! And all i get is sorry Sorry is not good enough this is supose to be the happiest day of our lives and there is a big shadow of upset hanging over us :(

speak to trading standards, sounds like you have been missold and misled to me
do u know anyone in the legal trade?? a legal letter generally gets some action from the big companies
CommentAuthorRach
No dont know anybody :( Im going to look into it more when i get back and cotact watch dog Thanks for the advice :)
This sort of thing is harder to sort out after you have been, you need to make their lives hell now so they put it right for you before its too late. I would'nt wait till after I would be playing merry hell with them now.

Thank you going to contact trading standards 2moz x
CommentAuthorClareS
awww no, make sure you keep all documentation from them and note every phonecall with details from it. Def contact trading standards as they're not providing the service they were advertising. If they've taken your money and said tehy'll provide the services you originally wanted then they're breaking that contract/agreement. Maybe try ringing up your local citizens advice, they do lots of work in this area. Some have specific workers to deal with stuff like this and they'll help you as much as they can for free then maybe recommend where to go from there x
CommentAuthorXbox widow
Let us know how it goes hun, threaten them with Dominic Littlewood from the BBC (dont get done get Dom) If it was me I would go in the shop and demand to see a senior manager and I would'nt budge till they compensated me for their mistake, even if they brought the coppers to me. Dont get me wrong I would'nt loose it or anything but I would be very determined until they put it right.
CommentAuthorClareS
To be honest if you we talking to them in a reasonable tone and not threatening them in any way the police wouldn't get involved as this would be classed as a civil issue. Only when you're refusing to leave after the store closing time could they maybe say you were trespassing. As xbox widdow says above, fight your corner and if that's not working then get someone very public to do it for you x
CommentAuthorMrsShaw
I'm not going to bash Thomas Cook as we have used them as our operators for our honeymoon gifting service and when the 3rd party provider went bust, they did send us a huge apologies, all the vouchers we were owed, plus a £50 to say sorry. So they're not all bad. All companies have good and bad customer service stories.
But it does sound like you've been missold. Let us know how you get on at trading standards, although I fear that unless you have in writing or some proof that the brochure you picked from orginally, is the one you thought you were paying for, you won't get anywhere. Good luck though.

Def take it further. I will never book with them again - I had the holiday from hell with them and the rep was useless. What was worse was the first choice rep was fab..he even helped us.
At the end of the day, you are paying for a service that you are not receiving. It's not good enough :-( good luck xxx

I too have had a really bad experience with this company. On a return flight from Egypt then took off around 70 suitcases because they were over their weight limit. This included mine and h2b (even though ours were well below the threshold). They didn’t announce this – so after waiting for a long time at the other end we and some others eventually spotted a small A4 note at their customer service point explaining that some cases had been left behind and that we would receive them in a day or two. I spent about £50 in phone calls to them, being passed on from person to person none of which would help. They completely lost my case. I took days unpaid off work waiting in for the case to show as advised, and it never did. I tried to claim with the insurance (also through Thomas Cook) and was told that I couldn’t as they needed proof I’d lost this. They told me I should have obtained a ref no at the airport from their advisor (there was no advisor). So they refused to pay out because they failed to provide me with a ref no – robbery much?! It did actually show up a couple of weeks later – completely randomly and by chance I was at home at the time, but the point is if it hadn’t they wouldn’t have compensated me for it. As far as they were concerned they had lost it – at no time was anyone able to tell me where my case was.

ive just booked honeymoon with them. was told i had till july to pay as long as most was paid. went in 4 wks ago where they demanded full payment or late charges would be made. luucky we had money to complete transaction. we also booked our seats am just awaiting passport to book seats. will be complaining if anything happens.......
CommentAuthormillz090
I've had numourous holidays with them in the past and always been fine and i am one to complain if not. We are flying with them again in 2 weeks for our annual sunny holiday and hoping for no hicceps. Sometimes it is a case of who you speak too rather than the company as a whole but i would put a complaint in writting to head of customers services and i would use google/linkedin to find this persons address so you can send it directly....

Virgin Atlantic aren't much better. I have been on the phone tonight to pre-book our seats, was on hold for AGES to then be told because I booked with a travel agent, they couldnt do anything for me! All I wanted was my booking reference. I booked back in November last year and at that time was given a booking number but not a proper refernce number. Now I have got to get in touch with the travel agent, to get the correct number. then go onto Virgins website to book our seats. He askedme a million questions about the booking then told me no....because of data protection he couldn't tell me the reference number....so WHY did he ask me all those bloody questions then? Bloody Jobsworths the lot of them.
If we are not sat together on this flight....I WILL NOT BE GOING!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am not a good flyer, and I am not flying 11 hours sat with some nerd/perv or boring bugger......
I can resist anything but temptation

To be honest I think there's good and bad with every company. We booked with Thomas Cook last year for our honeymoon, and had a perfect holiday. They even arranged with the hotel to deliver bubbly to our room because we were on honeymoon. I couldn't fault them and would definitely use them again - although our last holiday was all inclusive with Jet2 and again that was perfect (and actually cheaper lol).

We are not actually ON the wing, we will be INSIDE the plane! LOL

We are flying with Thomas cook this week and they charge £7.50 to pre-book your seat, I was not impressed and refuse to pay as already paid for the holiday. So we will be at the airport 3 hours before and we WILL seat together or Thomas cook will see my bad side.

Millz - it's not just Thomas Cook who charge you to reserve your seat. We've travelled with Jet2 and they do that as well. It's not compulsory though - but we always reserve our seats as we can choose where we sit then. It isn't that expensive but it's more convenient.
CommentAuthorMrsShaw
we went with choosing our seats. and when we booked it, it was still £40 cheaper than i got quoted a few days ago :)

CommentAuthorMrsKisywisy
well my issue is now resolved and our seats are reserved :) hardly any seats were reserved, so we had a good choice :)

Yes its £7.50per person each way so an extra £30 on our holiday which isnt alot but it annoys me it needs paying, it never used to be like this but everything is money money money now. I know its not compulsary but just annoys me but we will be at the airport early enough to pick seats but can imagine its expensive for a family and you would defintily want to be all together.... xx
