I was looking at another websites checklist and it says a month before the wedding I should notify my bank, electricity supplier etc that my name will be changing. I just assumed that once I am married I call the long list of companies that my name has changed, so should I tell them in advanced instead (and is it preferable).

Also, how much does it cost to change my passport and provisional license. I'm hoping it's not the cost of new ones as that will exceed over £100!!

Passport is a new passport os about £80 so most people wait until their passport expires but you will alos have to fly on your maiden name. Driving license is free i think. I think you write them all a letter saying your name has changed and email it off.

You have to order a totally new passport to change your name hun.. And dont have to pay to change your licence... I'm doing my passport, bank and licence before the marriage and not going to bother with anything else (phone, car finance etc... I'm not the used name on the gas and elec etc) xxx
