well the venue has just called me (what is it this week with every wedding thing ringing me!!) anyway they have rung me to remind me that my tasting is next wednesday at 11am (forgot to be honest!)

she wants me to email over my 2 choices of each course by tomr morning (eeek cant postpone as they close for a mth from the 18th feb and i need to know what were having to do the inserts!)

when i asked how long it will take ..... she told me .... 3 HOURS!!!

3 hours to do a food tasting... thats longer than the length of the wedding breakfast!!!!

what the hell do you do in a tasting?? and is 3 hours normal

i suppose if it a 3 course meal and you have two choices for each meal then that weorks out at about half an hour per course? or per dish rather. so maybe not as long as youd think. but i could be wrong. xx

We were told our tasteing would be about 2-3 hours, so sounds about right to me hunni!

We had three tastings before we picked our caterer and this is about right time wise. One was amazing, we got two starters, three mains and two desserts and a bottle of wine and coffee. Loved the tasting bit of choosing a menu. Nothing better than FREE FOOD!! X

yeah sounds about right. we had ours on sunday got there at 1 and left at 4.30!! its a meal really so as long as that normally takes xx

we have a 3 course meal for 4 and overnite stay 4 us all, i reckon thats what they want us to have that 4?

ive emailed the venue and said i dont like any of the food on the menu and can i change it lol who ever wrote their menu has no idea what goes with what and h2b isnt happy with the choice and the price were paying he wants it changed

they will prob refuse but if you dont ask you dont get

Just come back from my food tasting... and they allowed me to deisgn my own menu as the other one i didnt feel it was catering to the masses and people do talk about the food it is the one thing most people rememeber from the day

so were having...

warm crispy duck salad with a soy and honey dressing
stuffed chicken wrapped in parma ham with crushed new potatoes with roasted tomatoes and a sage and chicken jus
and an eaton shot for dessert (eaton mess made with cherries and cherry liquior!!)

and the veggie options are

warm goats cheese salad with an apple and walnut vinagrette
wild mushroom tagalitellie with sticky onions

a very happy full croc indeed!!!

we were told ages ago that if we choose to go for a tasting it would surprise us how long it would take. Its so we can discuss the requirements etc so sounds right to me.

cant wait to be Mrs Evans less than 3 weeks woooo
start weight 10st 1.5 lbs
weight now 8st 4.5 lbs
total loss to date: 24.5 lbs now need to maintain!
