If you search for tartan sites you may have more luck finding tartans searching on the actual sites than a search engine itself!

is he gonna buy a kilt or hire one? the tartans you can hire are quite limited. I think McAdam is part of the Macgregor clan, so a Macgregor kilt might be as close as he gets?

If you are hiring his kilt you would only have a select few tartans to chose from Claire as we found out when Paul went to chose his. He really wanted the McLeod tartan as it was his grandfathers family tartan so we ended up buying a dress kilt for him and his best man from a company which I will give you the link to. We got a bargain by buying the shirt, socks, skean dhu, belt, etc with the kilts as a package and it meant that both Paul and his best man have their own kilts now albeit they aren't pure woollen like real kilts that cost around £400 to make.

Found this when looking for McAdam tartan: The McAdams (MacAdam, McAdam) clan was a "sept" or subgroup of the larger MacGregor clan and probably used the tartans of the larger parent clan. Each Scottish clan used more than just one tartan. Different designs were used at different times for specific purposes.

So it looks like it would be the MacGregor tartan that he would be looking to wear. xx
