Ok I'm ordering my dresses today and I know the dresses come up a little smaller than the size says, so I asked my BMs which size to get and one of them said ' can you get me the size 14 and I'll get into it or even hopefully be a 12, good for me to have a goal'. So I am a bit worried, wouldn't it be better for me to get a 16 and have it taken in, you can see the dresses in my albums, the back is plain so it's a simple dress to take in and i wouldn't be losing any detail. My aunt can do alterations but if she doesn't want the pressure how much would I be looking at to have them taken in? Advice please, thanks ladies xx

I agree get bigger and have it taken in. They cost far too much to be playing guessing games and it falls on you if they don't reach their targets. Even in bridal shops it costs at the most £50 to take in the side seams but you can take them to any alteration place and get them done a lot cheaper. After all even the top price of £50 is still cheaper than a whole new dress cause they can't squeeze into it. Have you got their actual measurements so you can compare them to the sizes that the dress maker uses? That will give you a clearer idea of what to order.

I'm having this problem at the min, my bm lives in scotland and so hasn't tried on her dress, she told me she DEF wanted a 12 so that's what I got her. The dress is now at my mum's house and when I saw it I knew there was no idea she will fit into at the minute. It's more like a 10. I've been asking her to come over asap to try it on so we can tell if it's likely she will even fit into it. But as per usual, she is too busy, every month something crops up that she can't afford it or doesn't have the time (even tho on fb she is always out partying etc) I'm really worried about the dress, I paid so much for it and if it doesn't fit I have nop idea what I'll do. Can you let bm's dresses out? I doubt it as there is a lot of detail. Although the back has a tie up back so I'm thinking I could get extra material added to the panel.
So I would say def get bigger size, much less hassle!
