I'm really struggling for ideas for the table themes. I'm having 8 tables plus the top table and don't really want them to just be numbered but at the moment i can't seem to find any inspiration! Anyone got an ideas that they don't mind sharing?

Colours work well. My sister had shades of pink at her wedding as it was a pink theme. A friend had birdcage centrepieces and had bird names. Another friend had names of dances, tango, waltz etc. Someone else had flowers lily, rose. Someone else had knights, Galahad, Lancelot. I think I'm going to have gems, ruby, emerald, diamond. Hope this helps.

My wedding tables are named after 1950s leading ladies......Audrey Hepburn, Marilyn Monroe etc. as I have a 1950s vintage/glam theme

It all depends on your theme/colour scheme

Some others I have seen are

    Cake names
Names of pets they used to own
    Breeds of dogs or cats
    Big cat Names
    Wildlife
    Favourite song titles
    Favourite countries
    Favourite Flowers
    Names of Dances
    James Bond Titles
    Car names
Football terms if H2B is an avid fan
    Sweets
    Gems.....Diamond, Pearl, Sapphire etc

oh Kaytianna.....I only just saw you have gems.....lovely idea

Your theme sounds lovely! I dont really have a theme, only the colour scheme which is purple. Going to have to have a think, i thought this could be something that H2B could get involved with but i'm not having much luckwith him yet! Lol x

My friend had a Love Heart theme and all the tables had the sayings off the sweets as the names ie, Kiss Me , Hug Me etc, The centre pieces were small glass vases filled with love heart sweets still in the packets, it looked really good and was original.

It's great to say i get married this year September 1st 2012

My idea is to have a poet as the name of each table, and then choose my favourite poem of theirs to print out and put as part of the centre piece.
You could always pick something to do with how you met, or a really special memory for you. H2B wanted to do something related to Robin Hood, as our first date was to see the film, and then for our 1 year anniversary he took me to Nottingham. Or his other idea was the names of Henry VIII's wives, as the place he proposed was a Tudor restaurant/B&B with the rooms named after the wives (he proposed in Aragon :P)

i posted exactly the same post on a discussion a while ago! its a nightmare isnt it?!! i have purple, lime and hot pink colours/ flowers but wanted something more personal.i was a rockabilly in my youth and love 40s,50s and also 70s glam rock and new romantic 80s so i am doing a decades theme.each table is a decade.30s-00s and each one has 5 items that represent that era on them.i am also putting up some posters of stars of those eras and hoping to get some cardboard cutouts of my favourites! it is proving to be a little expensive tho as vintage stuff has the price tag on!!! lol!

This is been a really tough one for me! I have seen so many different ideas that are all amazing! I LOVE to idea of the drinks posted on this thread, maybe having a different cocktail for each one, made up in the different style glasses, like a giant martini or tumbler?
I was also thinking about feathers and floating flowers. I really like the vintage theme also, with a couple of accent colours? If anyone has any suggestions, I would welcome them!! x

My friends got married a couple of weeks ago and had a cadbury purple colour scheme so chose cadbury chocolates as their names - so wispa, caramel, twirl, buttons and the head table was milk tray :)

We struggled with this too! Up until yesterday (table plan is being made tomorrow!) we had numbers. In the end we googled table plans ideas and most of the ones listed here came up. In the end we found someone who suggested these...

Adore, Promise, Romance, Cherish, Eternity, Forever, Passion

As soon as we read them we both loved them and really felt they represented what we felt about marriage and our commitment for each other. Others we liked we cities that meant something to us and the word love in different languages.
I hope you find the ones that suit you both...believe me it took us ages!! x x

We are undecided too, our two main passions are so different, we both love theme parks and go every couple of months, our first date was to Thorpe Park, so we were thinking of naming our tables after various theme park rides.......
However we are also mad scuba divers, got engaged on a dive and our honemoon is going to be mostly diving so we were thinking of naming our tables after either fish we have seen on dives or places we have dived.
They are so completely different we just cant choose.
