I have the most awkward family so me and my partner decided to mix our families together for the meal. i did a table plan and sent a pic to my mum and sis as i didnt think you could read the names (just wanted to show off my sticky note design) and my mum has started questioning why shes sat with my gran (her mum) and making a drama. my sister said ive done very politically well to seat all my family and it all looks great. my mum said she's rather sit with my dad and his wife.....a definate no no

i am actually laughing at how ridiculous my mum is sounding but worried i dont want hassle and problems. i technically cant seat my mum n her husband anywhere else, and if i did it would be a back table so she would complain she was at the back!!

Yeah can you get your sister to help you out? Tell her there's nowhere else she could sit unless she wants to sit at the back (I'm sure she won't). if its one of those situations where shell continue to make a fuss, can you just tell her you'll look into it and move her (youve got plenty of time) but then just have her sit in the same place on the day?

^ yes, just say you will have a look and see where else you can put her, then just don't and on the day she can't do anything about it.

I'd say leave her where she is. It's a silly thing to complain about.
