hi ladies havent been to many weddings myself so dont know what is really expected. i am having a buffet in the evening, do i do a seating plan or just let everyone decide where there seating in a less formal way? xx

when i used to work for a hotel and worked on weddings you normally have a seating plan for the day and people sit where they want for the buffet as they will all go up at different times if that helps xx

We are having a day buffet straight after the wedding and having a table plan for that so that people dont wander around feeling lost! Then the evening buffet is just walk about and mingle with your plate as there will be lots of stuff going on and people wont be sitting down unless they are tired of walking around talking or dancing!

we're just having a buffet around 5.30pm and letting people sit where they want, i was going to do a seating plan, then was just going to have a top table, but now we're just letting people sit where they want. at least then if there are any family members that dont get on they can choose to sit where they want x
yeah i think people sitting where they want to is better in my case cz some family members are talking to others so its there choice where they wana sit down xx

we're having a buffet also around 6pm after the wedding ceremony, no seating plan just let everyone mingle n sit whereever they like- though we are having a sweetheart table somewhere in the middle just for the 2 of us x

We weren't going to have a table plan for our buffet at 7pm. We got married at 3pm so the buffet was our only meal. As the date got closer I realised we were going to be a bit of a squash in the room so decided to go with a table plan - it went very well and the weather was hot so people were in an out of the gardens as well. Someone said somewhere else here that it makes it special having a table plan
