I get married 5th November (firework night) and was planning on naming my tables after fireworks, although my wedding doesn't have a firework theme I thought it might be a nice touch but then my h2b decided he wanted to name that after Marvel Comics (hes a geek lol) but after booking our honeymoon I thought it would be great to name the tables after New York attractions, Central Park, Empire State Building and name the top table after the hotel we are staying in but I have just mentioned it to someone and they thought it was "boring"

I've voted fireworks to tie it in to the date. I think the destinations/attractions things is done quite regularly these days so perhaps not quite as unique as you might like. I would have said the comics (closet geek :P) but they're a little too off the wall, especially if it's only your h2b who has the interest in them x

I would go with the New York table names as it will mean something to you. If you are not having fireworks as your theme I wouldn't have them as table names. Sorry I dont know many Marvel comics so can't comment on them. xxx

I've got a mix with mine, I had 3 tables named after locations in the online game we met in, 2 tables named after Lord of the Rings locations, and 3 tables named after Star Wars planets....
You could compromise and do a mix if you liked.

Haha, I love how you've mixed the two, that was very clever. Much better than the standard New York places because I find a lot of people do that.
I'd have voted for the geeky option though. We're going to name our tables after the different regions in Pokémon. Lol, we're a bit of an odd geeky couple >.>

comics. i think that because wedding are prodominantly organised by women and what they want i think that the table names should bring a bit of the man in your life into it. hence why nothing in my wedding has anything to do with motorbikes but we are naming the tables after the bikes him and his family have owned
i like the fireworks idea too but the comics is my fave :-)

i did vote for fireworks but starting to think the comics would be better as it involves your h2b hobby as such and place names are now too common getting. im using cars as mine, h2b top 10 cars hes either driven or wants. were both into rallying and thought about drivers but i think its better by car lol

i voted New York Names brings a bit of your honeymoon forward plus it gives people something to talk about at the table, could be a great ice breaker. unless everyone interested in comics i personally wouldn't do that. and fireworks, well everyone knows its fireworks night and not really a conversation maker. just my opinion tho lol x

I like the firework idea...I've never heard of that but have seen New York themed weddings before! Maybe you could let some fire works off in the evening too? Providing your venue is happy with that :) x

Looks like you've already made up your mind but I voted comics. Our tables have nothing to do with our wedding but are a reflection of my H2B's personality.
Our friend's wedding last year had marvel comic table plan (pic attached) it was so lovely as that's exactly who the groom is!! I think there's got to be some evidence of the Groom's personality in the wedding that is obvious to the guests.

think fireworks my sister and brother in law had cleaning product names which i thought was really odd because neither is a clean freak but Ashley proposed by writing 'will you marry me' in cif cream cleaner on the cooker x
