we are having a late wedding...4pm... as we are on a tight budget so we are just having an evening buffet rather than a sit down meal! do you think we need table decorations? e.g centre pieces, name cards!
I didnt think we needed them but my sister mentioned them yesterday and its got me thinking?
Do you think it'd look too boring without?
i just thought we could maybe get a few packs of those diamond sprinkles, some bubbles and let everyone sit where they want rather than telling people who to sit with? what do you think?
    all opinions really appreciated!
8 months to go and im freaking out about everything lol

if your only having an evening buffet i would just let everyone sit where they want most ppl will be up and about anyway and only sitting for food.
decorations i would say depends on you budget, I'm gettingg some led tea lights for my wedding (not allowed real ones) will be having birdcages and table crystals to but I'm getting married at 12 with a sit down meal. if i was getting married later i would just go with you idea with the added candles thats what my sister did for her wedding which was later like yous she did but some extra decs on the buffet table though my sil had some candelabras from her daughters wedding and lent her them also balloons could be a good option for the tables they come in pretty cheap.

I think it fully depends on your priorities. I don't think a sit down meal requires decoration nor does a buffet equal no decoration. I also don't see the connection to the timing.

Nothing "pretty" is needed at a wedding but to me the decoration is important. All throughout the day :-))
We're having a buffet style mixed spit roast but with allocated seating. There a no regular sized tables but all differently sized and some quite large - all tables will be decorated. The whole room will be. Where I find room I'll put something up :-)

And regarding the seating - we opted for allocated seating to avoid awkward standing around and to avoid utter chaos :-)

You don't have to have them at all, but it does add a little something to a wedding, especially if you're on a budget. Even if it's something little like a few candles, or a vase of baubles.

Name cards I don't think are necessary for a buffet type meal, however it depends on your friends and family!
