Hi, My first post here since joining. We are having a smallish wedding (about 60 family/friends) with a number of small children. We were thinking of ordering some 'bubble' wands for the kids but seems some great deals out there so may put them on all place settings.
We are also thinking about buying some disposable cameras, putting them on tables and asking guests to take random, candid shots etc.
Anyone else got any other ideas, suggestions for something extra for the guests?
thanks

Personally I wouldn't do the cameras.. So many come out black because of people forgetting the flash, or putting fingers across the lense.. Kids getting hold of them.. It's not cheap to get films developed, you'd be spending a lot of money.. Plus the majority of people have camera phones or will bring their own digital cameras anyway..
We're doing activity packs for the kids, colouring books, dot to dot, puzzles, bubbles, yo-yos etc.. And everyone else is just getting little organza bags with parma violets in them.. I'm also making glass charms with our initials and date on them, but I'm sure they'll just be left behind.. Was just a little something I wanted to make :-)
Lots of people do lottery tickets, scratch cards, the traditional iced almonds, and various other sweets in bags/boxes..

Welcome Hazel,
Our reception is also fairly small (about 50).
We are doing the disposable camera thing for each table, we also have bubble wands, party poppers, activity packs with crayons pictures to colour, stickers, sweeties and small toys. Specially made up little bag of sunshine favours (pics in DIY album) Sweet trees made with Chocolate Limes - as this is our theme and napkins with our names and date on layed out to form place settings even though we are having a buffet.
Do you have a theme as this could help you with ideas?

Thanks for the replies ladies.
Our theme is travel, we both work in the industry, so will be having boarding cards as place settings, a departure board as the table plan etc.
I thought of doing little activity packs for the kids and we're giving our neice and my god daughters little boy 2 of our old little digital cameras and letting them go wild - will be interesting to see what they get from 3ft high :)
Yoyos are a good idea - never thought of those to put in.

Welcome Hazel!!
Yoyos are a fab idea! We are putting Favour boxes with tablet, but that is just because my man is a chef and I bake in my spare time, and we know people like our stuff and so will take them home!! But love the little activity packs to keep the kiddies occupied!
Im having bubble wands in little favour buckets scattered about each table and also beards and glasses on sticks so people can have some silly fun, we have an app for all smart phones which if you take a pic using the app not only does it store on your phone but also a copy is sent to the wedding couples account so they can see there wedding from everyones point of view, not sure if im allowed to mention app name so message me, but I agree with the comment about disposable cameras, went to one wedding where they got 2 cameras back with nothing but pictures of random peoples feet

Been to a few weddings with bubble wands. They go down well with the adults as well lol
I don't think I'd bother with the cameras though.... That wedding pic app sounds good though!

I have an app too @ cra1gt :) seems a much better cost effective way of capturing our guests views.
We do have a photographer and videographer also, but I think the app is a great idea.

I was thinking of putting little quiz/trivia boxes on the tables. They can be an ice-breaker for people who either don't know one another, or haven't seen each other in ages.
