How are you doing a sweetie table and how do I get some easy to access, nice glass bowls without spending a fortune?? I don't know whether to just have it available as part of the reception or whether to let people fill their own favours bags / boxes as they leave.

We are making our own sweetie buffet. We went to ikea at the weekend to buy some jars to put the sweets in. The jars were 95p each or £1.01 each, we got a mixture, we just need little scoops and pick and mix bags now as were just having it for the reception. (i think people would appreciae it more at the reception and it adds to the decoration) i am looking for some big letter ornaments that i can decorate myself as were wanting to sign it, 'SWEET LOVE'. I love the candy shop idea. I would definately go to ikea for the jars though. We got candles whilst we were there too. xxxx

I did the ikea thing too, also got a card for country baskets and they have some really cheap plastic vases, been keeping an eye out in supermarkets for glass bowls and vases on offer - think got what I need now - always buy in 2's to look symetrical and then have one big more different vase in the middle. Google images have some great ideas. I went with wooden 'love is sweet' design and have used that when printing my sweetie bags too. We opted as part of the reception as thought it would be a talking point - also have done a child friendlier one for the kiddies with decorated cupcakes and that...... It can be alot of fun creating your own x x

I never once thought of Ikea! I was worrying that the kids might get hyperactive eating loads of sweets through the evening, but as there'll be plenty of Coca cola and such, I guess I'm worrying about nothing. Lettering seems to be a common theme tonight, so I'm going to go google. The cupcake idea is great too. Thank you xx

I've bought my bags and scoops on the bay and also bought clear vases from country baskets. Have you got access to 'the Range' as there's cheap clear vases there. I'm having a black and white theme so any candy website suggestions would be appreciated!!

I got jars from Ikea for 80p each or something and I've just ordered some bags from the bay so waiting to see what they're like. My friend told me her brother just had jars of sweets dotted all over the place at his wedding and every single sweet was gone by the end of the night! My plan is to have them set out on a table with the scoops and bags for people to help themselves.
