I've found some candy stripe paper bags on ebay which are really reasonable and I know where I can get nice cheap sweeties but I've never seen a candy buffet at a wedding and I don't know how it all works. What do I put the sweets in? Do I need scoops of some kind? How much room do they take up? Please if anyone has actually seen a candy buffet can you tell me how it worked?xxx

Seen as how this is on- do you have a candy buffet as well as a normal buffet or is it a replacement, just curious.

    Thanks xx

Yeah we are doing a candy table with lil glass vases and scopes with sweets matching our colour scheme (so all sweets will be cream/gold/chocolate). You will prob just need a small round table, depends really how many vases you use. Also the martini glasses (larger ones) are good for holding sweets in xx

We are doing our own candy buffet, and getting my vintage looking jars from HomeBargains and then just filling them up with pink bonbons, white choc mice etc. anything that matches colour scheme. But need to get scoops and bags, forgot about that, can't have guests just digging their hands in, lol.

Fab! I like the look of those. OH thinks its a good idea to have some kind of sweeties at ours as we'll have a few little kiddies. Plus I reckon the adults will appreciate them too!

Can't wait until the day I become Mrs. Johnson :)

im having a sweet buffet as my favours, will have a smallish table set up for it with various different sized and shaped vases/bowls/dishes/jars. Ive seen lots of lovely different ones in asda, tesco, ikea and CHARITY SHOPS! Some great ones in the local salvation army shop so i'll be getting a few in there, really really cheap too. You could always resell them, or put them back into the charity shop after.
Im having plain white paper bags which i'll decorate myself (that'll keep me busy for a while!) and some large spoons/ladles as scoops, the "sweet" scoops are quite pricey really. either that or some tongs

We've been saving the Doug Egberts (sp?!) coffee jars for AGES - they're amazing glass jars with lids that seal and you can get them big enough for big sweeties :)

I went to an old fashioned sweet shop and he said he would sell to me at trade price because I was ordering so much so it can work out cheap if you go to your local suppliers. I also think Ikea is one of the cheapest places for the glass jars.
