We are having a sweet table at our reception but not sure what to do...
Our theme is brown & orange so do I have just brown and orange sweets or do I have a mixture of all sweets

Or am I just being a little bridezilla!!!

have just thought maybe I could have jars of mixed sweets and 'if h2b lets me' get serving dishes with a P heart N and just have brown and orange in those :)
Also we have a chocolate fountain so that reduces my choice of brown sweets with no chocolate.

Ive done loads of weddings hun with the candy cart nd only had one that wanted it colour co-ordinated so I think its personl choice really you can always use orange and brown ribbons with orange and brown sweet tags and bags or just colour co-cordinate the table instead of the sweets xx

    31st August 2013 I became Mrs Carrick
Cant wait to do it all over again in 2018

You can buy organza for 100cm x 150cm pff the bay for about £2 hun but if you buy 3 it all comes as one so maybe a table swag and get 2 orange sashes which are 99p each for bows that way your table is still colour co-ordinated xx

I think you should have what you want. I think the coloured sweets that match your theme will look cool if that's what u want, and will look like you've made more effort than just slinging loads of different ones on there...depends if you've got the extra time to do it that way x

Colour co-ordinated looks cool, but we're just going with our favourite sweets. We are having stripy bags in our colour though :-)

i'm planning on having a sweet table as well, but am now a bit worried - i heard that one woman and her 3 children practically cleared out the whole table by taking multiple bags - leaving hardly anything left for the other guests - half of which had not even arrived yet. Also another woman (different wedding) took a whole jar of sweets for herself!!!

I don't think any of my guests would be that inconsiderate - but rather worried now!

Im not going to colour co ordinate my sweet cart as my colour is Purple but Im going to have as many purple sweets as I can Lol.

Christina, I wouldn't worry about people taking too much at the sweet they are there to be eaten its not like anyone would talk about you because they didn't get any but that woman was rather inconsiderate and if someone took a whole jar from the sweet cart and I saw it Id be over taking it off them and putting it back on the cart.

I have heard horror storries about sweet tables, too. Children emptying the jars within minutes or adults filling their bags are some of them. I am not put off, though. I am going to assume my family and friends are respectful enough to leave enough for everyone.
As for the colour, we are going to use all kinds of sweets, but also matching the ribbons and table cloth to our theme.
But do whatever you like. If you like it to be colour coordinated, then do that.

I wouldn't worry about people emptying the sweet table. People kept going back for more at ours but we still had loads of sweets left over lol you'll probably be eating them for ages after the wedding! X

I had a sweet table at my engagement party, it went down really well. We brought the bags off eBay we got them to match the colour of our balloons and decorations. I would personally go for any sweets and just co-ordinate bags and decorations to the table
    :) x

I wouldnt be too worried there is the occasional person will take more than one bag but some guests wont take any also but if you budget to roughly 150g per person it should work out fine ive done alot of them now and never had any bad horror stories although it is funny watching the adults fight with the kids over whos turn it is lol xx
