I have had a crib for all of mine but never a moses basket.
Moses baskets arent for me for many reasons but loved my crib - my 3rd was really long so he would have been out of a moses basket by about 4 weeks anyway and glad we had crib as it lasted about 3 months before I had to wedge him out of it.
One of the reasons i liked the cribs was the option to make it "glide" although not all have this function.

Ive never personally liked cribs myself (for personal reasons that I won't go into on here) but as they say each to their own and if you want one then go for it. My oldest two went into an attachment of their pram that was like a moses basket and my son had his own moses basket that was from a friend as a present

I used a crib and loved it. I could just stretch my arm out of bed and give it a gentle push to start the rocking! Plus it was bigger and sturdier than a moses basket and lasted for 4 months until she was big enough for a cot and her own room.

Is she nice too? My mum is lovely, just the mil can be a nightmare! Although she's been a lot better since an operation on her mouth. Might be something to do with it being painful to talk lol. Sorry, I'm off on a tangent to the thread! Have you made a choice yet?x

I used a moses basket for my daughter as it was reduced by mothercare as display stock but I would love to have a crib if money could buy. unfortunately we can't afford so will be sticking with the moses basket again. Besides I found it easier to transport around the house and often had our daughter sleeping in the lounge during the day
Soon to be joined together as the Wheeler family, can't wait
Doing thing our way xxxx

i had a moses basket as i was limited for space (we used to live in a 1 bedroomed house til just recently and there are 4 of us now) i would have loved a crib and all the other gadgets like changing area and swing chairs and that but he advantage if a moses basket was that you could carry baby from one room to another without actually picking up (wakeing up) baby. my MIL would have got me anything i wanted for the children (still does and for us), it's nice having nice inlaws :)
hicory vicary dock i will be mrs rachel vicary :)

I much prefered the crib we had to moses basket. We had a movement monitor which does not work with moses baskets Plus like others have said, crib lasts longer. I did have a moses basket with my 2 for downstairs but found they would hit the sides and wake themselves up. Also found after a few weeks, i put them upstairs in the crib to sleep rather than them being downstairs in moses basket as neither of them, particularly liked it. Mine didnt glide so cant help there but im sure all babies would love that as its the movement similar to being in the womb
