I am going to apologize in advance because this seems to be a women only site, but I figured this would be the best place to go to get ideas for my bride-to-be. My fiance has done everything for our wedding. She asks for my opinion on almost everything, but she has planned the entire wedding. I want to do something special for her and surprise her on our wedding day. I have already wrote her a note to give to her the day of the wedding but I want to do something really special for her. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

Ah bless u this is so sweet of u, wil get lots of brownie points!!!
What about arranging lots of little notes/ little gifts through out the morning so if she having hair done send something with the hair dresser, the make up artise, with her breakfast, something put in with her dress etc so sh doesnt know how many things there will be or when they will be coming etc.
Has she got a P&dora braclet, maybe a nice charm not sure they do an actual wedding one but very nice heart ones etc, if she hant got a braclet would she like one maybe u could get her that with a few charms and that ways its something u can build togeter as ur lifes go on? x
I like that idea Mrs Brammer, of lots of different little gives or notes with everyone that turns up!!
Also love the idea of the Pdora bracelet... making a story on the bracelet :)

Is there anything she has always wanted but never got round to getting? Other than that i'd go with Mrs Brammer's idea, i'd love that to happen to me on my wedding day....... note to self show best man this thread lol x

Firstly welcome to the site, and congratulations on your forthcoming wedding. When is the big day? There is a few men on this site not many of them are that active on here. One gentleman Clive is usually popping in quiet often, so don't apologise for being here. I think its great to have more men joining.
I think the note idea is so romantic... give one to each person that will be seeing her on the morning of the wedding, Hairdresser, make up artist, photographer, car driver, her BMs, her Dad her mum each in a little envolope with a note inside, could be romantic dittys? or could each be clues leading up to the final present?
Or do a little treasure hunt for the morning, you hide her present somewhere then leave a trail of clues that takes her from one place to the other till she eventually gets to her present?

Welcome! There's definitely some men kicking around here, so you're definitely not alone! Bit difficult to think of anything off the top of my head without either knowing you both or knowing your budget, so these are based on the sort of thing I'd be bowled over with if h2b sorted it out for our big day, even though some of them are so out of budget to be laughable, maybe there's some transferable ideas, lol!
Learnt how to dance properly for our first dance! (haha, probably wouldn't work given I don't know how to dance though!) Made something that represented our time together, like a photo collage, delivered to the room before the ceremony. Something like a charm bracelet that you can add to every anniversary (with something weddingy for the first one!) Got the actual band who sang our song in to sing live for our first dance. (would be freaking awesome, but only even slightly conceiveable coz the band that sings our song isn't massively famous and are right nice people!) Got a piece of music composed especially for us. Write a poem for her to read out during the speeches (that one's off don't tell the bride!) Fireworks! (except we're not allowed anyway!) Something spectacular transport-wise If there's people that can't make it, get them to make a congratulatory video for her or link up on Skype. Really push the boat out on the room for the wedding night, flowers, candles, champagne, chocolate, the works! Plant a tree together to mark the day.
Two of my friends got married recently, they'd been together for 12 years, after the wedding he took her to the cliffs where they did a coastal erosion project when they first met to take new measurements. I thought that was beautiful. But they had a lot of scope for beautiful, thoughtful things, we we're trying to persuade them to have the note he wrote her telling her he liked her made into a napkin! If you've been together a long time, do you have any things from early on in your relationship?
Will carry on trying to think of some more sensible ideas!
PS: I meant that they could get the image of the note printed onto a set of custom napkins, not to use the actual note as a napkin!

How about her favourite picture of both of you put on to canvas? Welcome to the site :) xx

I think you've already picked the best surprise. In these days of couples living together, mobile phones and the Internet the good old fashioned love letter is a rare thing.
Include the reasons you love her, why she completes you, what you are looking forward to in married life, how your life has changed because of her.
I would die and go the heaven if Rob wrote me a letter like that, and maybe combined it with a beautiful bit of jewellery because I love shiny things!
Oh and welcome to the site. Chaps always welcome!

Hey, congratulations on your forthcoming big day and welcome!! yes there are a lot of women here to give advice but there are a few men lurking in the shadows don't worry your not alone!!
I love the idea of the note, very romantic. You could do lots of little gifts, many the girls have suggested above. Treating her to a spa day before the big day, sending her a massive bouquet of flowers on the morning of the wedding, little gifts through the morning etc etc! xx

Welcome to the site! I love the idea of the little notes around the house, the spa day, chocolates and champagne on the night of the wedding. I'm not sure how much of a surprise this would be but me and my H2B are having 'engagement vows' after the normal vows. Once you placed the wedding ring on her finger and said your vows, you put the engagement ring on her finger with the vows:
"The engagement ring is a symbol of promise and intention. Now the intention is realized and the promise fulfilled. Please place your engagement ring on *Brides's Name* finger over her wedding band to symbolize that the love that brought you together will always protect and sustain your marriage”
Or you could surprise her with your own vows x

Hi and congrats on ur forthcoming wedding!!! Eeeek, have u long to go untill the big day?
I think there are some great ideas here from everyone, I agree with Teganandrob that a good old fashioned bit of romance ie; love letter is a perfect way to start the perfect day dropped of with a bit of bling (something new) for her to wear down the aisle.
Ps; I think it's great to have another man on here- we need more! Lol :-)
Kirstyj22 I love the idea of surprising with own vows :-)

Wow, lovely idea :)
Spa treatments sound lovely - though I think I've heard before that you shouldn't get the facial done right beforehand as you can get spots from it?! Correct me if I'm wrong people, I'm no expert! I would love it if my fiance wrote me a letter on the morning of the wedding, think that's definitely a winner :)

thats just a lovely thought if only my other half was like you lol
i like the idea of a scrap book or memory book from the moment you first met with pictures and items like cinema tickets etc And gifts through out the day you could send her a bouquet of her favorite flowers, some jewellery with little romantic notes Book a hotel room and decorate with roses etc
