The net is full of videos of couples doing surprise first dances. At one time I wanted to do one but h2b didnt. After talking to my weegie friend on here last night, I went to bed with first dance songs on my mind. After a while nagging, Steve has said the only song he would do a surprise dance to is a Michael Jackson one (he's a closet moonwalker and can do most of the moves) That was a bit of a shock as I've never considered MJ for a first dance song, however after watching a few videos on intenet of "The Way You Make Me Feel" first dances I reckon I would be up for it. Steve wants to start with a slow song and then make it look like its gone wrong, then go straight into the MJ song. We have the MJ dance game on kinect with all the moves so should be ok.
Anyone else doing a surprise first dance or doing something different?

We did the quickstep and didn't tell anyone we were learning. Everyone was really shocked and impressed that we did a proper dance for out first dance and we loved doing it so much we are learning more dances and keeping it up now we are married. The only thing I would say is that your hubby has to be up for it because there is nothing worse than seeing a man being forced to do something he doesn't want to do as it shows. If he is up for MJ then I would say go with it and people will see just how much he is enjoying himself and that is what the wedding is all about.

I think it's a great idea...I'd seriously consider it if my H2b could tap his foot in time, let alone learn a whole dance routine. My BM's and I have discussed doing it as a 2nd dance but we're still undecided. x

We're thinking of doing a proper dance for our first dance, strictly come dancing styleeee. However neither of us has done anything like this before so I best get on and book some lessons. Propblem being we don't have a first dance song sorted out yet!?

Steve used to love dancing to MJ, I have seen a vid of him as a teen doing thriller, so this is right up his street. Be interesting to see how xbox rehearsals go we have decided to have our first go tonight once the kids are in bed. FIngers crossed we don't collapse in a heap. xx

Doing a shocker first dance is such a good idea coz it will set the tone for the rest of ur night! Stevie_Dee, u r so lucky ur man is willing to do it! Mine thinks that our song is going to be so unexpected (and may not go down well with the elder generation) that we shouldn't do a fun dance to it!
If it's thriller u r doing there is bound to be loads of stuff on tube you showing you how to do it! Sure u'll have a fab time practicing! xx

Haha, love this idea! I really dont know what we would do though. I dont do ball room type dancing as I used to be a dancer myself, a jazz, tap and ballet dancer. MJ sounds absolutely fabulous! Such a good idea xx

both me and h2b hate dancing and unless very drunk are never normally found anywhere near a dance floor i ntake handbag duty lol. This is the one part of the day that we are both really dreading. we arent decided what to do about it yet, one of my bridesmaids is a dance coach so maybe we will do something different although teching us to dance could be amusing enough in itself
