We had a package with our wedding venue for alcohol but we were pretty sure we could do it cheaper, even with EXTORTIONATE corkage (£10 for normal wine and £15 for fizz) btw, does anyone know why where is a difference?
So, we have 28 adult guests and they were going to charge £680 for 2 x prosecco (1 x post ceremony and 1 x toast) and 1/2 a bottle of house wine each.

I am lost as to what your question is?
Are you asking why is champagne more expensive than wine or why hotels charge so much for alcohol?
Most hotels don't make huge profits on food and rooms so they know they can make their money from alcohol so always mark it up in price
They usually charge more corkage on sparkling wine as the glasses are smaller so you get more glasses per bottle than you would for normal wine.

Agree with Michelle, not sure what you are asking but may have been moved by mods.
Sparkling wine is in smaller glasses so more glasses to pour. That's why they would charge more.

If I remember rightly she was stating how much it was costing from certain supermarkets and that was why she was supplying her own compared to what has been offered,
We are providing our own alcohol. We are offering a glass of bucks fizz as a welcome drink, half a bottle of wine during the meal, and a glass of champagne for the speeches. We got the wine from those "buy 6, get 25% off" from different supermarkets. It worked out about £4.75/bottle, my MIL is getting the champagne (every time she sees a deal, she gets one bottle), and the bucks fizz is about £5 a bottle. In our case, we are paying about £6.20 per guest (I don't know how much the champagne is costing). For the kids, we are serving orange juice for welcome drink and pop drinks for the meal.
