    Not much of a rant really, but I figured it was better in this category than in the stationary one!

    Some of you will recall that we are making our own invitations, and we completed all of the daytime invites almost a month ago and got them sent out, but needed more ribbon to complete the evening invitations. I went into the stall where I got the ribbon from in the first place 3 weeks ago and they had none in. The owner was really quite nice though and said that she could order some in on her next order, but that was going to be in about a month from then. I explained to her that I couldn't wait that long as the invitations needed finishing and sending out within 2 weeks, so she said that if I was happy to pay for the carriage then she would put in an extra order just for my ribbon - I agreed, as I was told that the ribbon would only take a week to arrive.

    I called her last week to ask if my ribbon had arrived yet - it hadn't, but she told me that the supplier had it in stock and that it should be arriving by the end of last week... When I called again yesterday I was informed that the supplier had none and that they would need to order it in from the manufacturer at a delay of 2-3 weeks!!

    As you can imagine I was absolutely fuming - we need these invitations out as soon as possible since I need to know numbers to confirm the buffet by mid September! I honestly don't think she ordered the ribbon in the first place, and think it is disgusting that I've had to wait 3 weeks to find out they can't get it. Needless to say, I have cancelled the order and have now sourced more ribbon from ebay - although I don't think the blue is exactly right :(

    Oh hun, how frustrating!! So annoying and what a git of a supplier!!
    Think of it like this.. the people with your day invites, are unlikly to see you evening invites, and certainly not next to each other, so the slight diffrence in ribbon colour is unlikly to come to light. So dont worry if its slightly diffrent!

    So sorry for you hunni!

    atleast you have an alternative for the evening invites and if the colour difference does come to light then just explain it was ment to be that way for the evening to have a slight difference lol

    That's terrible. Can't believe she let you down even after paying extra! I agree with the girls though, just say it was meant to be different ;o)

    Grrrrr, I had the same! I tried to "support local business" by going to a market stall but after 6 weeks and 4 visits (from 150 miles away as well cus I was doing it at my parents!), plus my Dad also going for me on his day off, I told her I wanted the deposit back cus it was ridiculous! I know they can't place big orders like department stores, but her customer service was awful. I'm convinced she never even tried to get it. The first time I went back for it (on the weekend we'd arranged) she said "oh I didn't think you'd actually come". What?! I left a deposit!
    I went to a well known large retailer instead and paid over double, but at least I've got it!

    Hope you get sorted anyway, and I keep telling myself noone is going to compare invitation so don't let it stress you out x
