I am planning my wedding for July next year (and hoping for some good weather to go with it) and really don't have a clue as what colours to go for. Many people have told me to go for a bright red as it is summer and ''flaming hot'' but I really really don't like red. Any suggestions? So far I like yellow.... but have been told that this is too much of a spring colour? :s

Yellow would be nice...or what about coral? I'd have loved that colour if mine was more towards the summer x

Im going with sage green, but the venue sort of dictated what colour to have (im not complaining, it was my first choice!)

How about pastel colours? They look very nice in summer, or oranges and yellow?

Yellow is lovely, there should still be lots of yellow flowers around too.

i am going orange for a summer wedding and everyone keeps saying it's an autumn colour but I don't care!
One thing I will say is pick a colour you won't get sick of in the next year cus if you make anything for it yourself ur gonna be seeing a lot of the colour! Luckily I love orange :)
And, don't pick an obscure shade as you will struggle, like I am!! To find anything that matches :)

Light and bright colours such as mint green, robin egg blue, yellow, pink always look good... Red can be seen as a winter colour and might not look so good with sunshine!

i am having a mixture of pastels with each of my bridesmaids in a different colour of pastel...mint, pink, lilac and sky blue...
you can have whatever colour you want, yellow is lovely for spring or summer...and you can always use a brighter shade of any colour to make it more summery...the same as you can tone it down for autumn for example bright orange and pumpkin...both orange but different variations...
don't listen to what other people say if you like it then have it, especially with something like colour scheme! xx

Teal is lovely or turquoise. We're looking at July and are thinking purples (each BM wearing different shades), coral or teal/blues. Undexided at the moment lol!

I agree with the opinion that red reminds me of winter. More precisely- of Christmas ;) red and green. I wouldn't go for red theme in the summer as the colour seems too aggressive for me. I prefer pastel colours. Navy blue with silver also seems to be very interesting ;)

coral and yellow are gorgeous colours!
You could go down the pastel shades route or even go as far as yellow & lime.... we had turquoise, and was a beautiful sunny day & looked gorgeous against the sunlight! xx

In terms of colours... I always said my bridesmaids Don't have to be in the same colours as the decorations as they are not ornaments! We're looking at a wide range of colours for the bridesmaids but our theme us tiffany blue/jade green and white. You'll also be surprised what colours suit people so don't rule them out just yet!

You can have any colour you like, any time of the year :)

But do think about your BMs, as yellow makes me look vey very ill (I'm so pastey you can almost see through me!) so try some things on them and go from there.

go with what you want not what you think you should have!!

I would say don't make a decision yet. Pick your wedding dress and see what best matches it. I know that sounds silly, but there are different shades of whites and creams and different colours will compliment your dress.

I thought I definitely wanted my bridesmaids in teal but the teal looked too harsh beside my soft chiffon dress. Ended up going with dusty pink and pink was the one colour I had ruled out.

Have any colour you like? I'm getting married this August and our colours are purple and ivory. Whatever colour you choose you'll be able to work it into a summer wedding- flowers come in pretty much ALL the colours :)
We chose purple and ivory because both of us have purple as our favourite colour, so it was fairly simple :) xx

Thanks for all the posts ladies :) they have all helped lots!! My POA is to get all the BM's together and get them to try on lots of dresses in all colours just to see which suits them all. Im thinking yellow and turquoise :) but you never know may change my mind completely when I see them in dresses!!! But will keep you updated x

Hi Gracie! Add yourself to the July 2014 thread- I'm a July 2014 bride too! :-)
My colour scheme is shades of silver/grey/gunmetal/slate with ivory and white, and a lot of people tend to think silver is for winter weddings, hence going for darker shades too (plus its a nightmare trying to find exact matches for things!). I'm hoping it'll look classic & understated.
