Is anyone hiring their suits from the bros of moss? Just got a brochure today and looking at the prices it's £96 say for a package including 2 piece suit, waistcoat, shirt and cravat or tie, but if you were to hire the 2 piece suit separately at £60 and get 'accessory packs' inc. waistcoat, shirt and cravat or tie at £15, it's obviously only £75 in total, and just wondering if anyone else noticed and why are they charging people more for hiring it all in one? Also, it says that there is a security deposit of £200 per suit, is that true? It's more than the suit costs to hire and obviously can't afford to pay all that!! Just thinking of giving up on suits at the moment, having no luck at all with them!

the deposit is of course the cost of replacing it should anything happen
So if you pay the waiver of £8, you wouldn't have to pay the £200 deposit, or you'd still have to pay it? Just we wouldn't be able to afford that, even if we were to get it back. Can't afford to pay £200 per suit making it £1600 for a security deposit, that's a ridiculous amount xxx

have you looked at getting suits on the high street M&s were doing them at £59 .. every bloke has got a white shirt if not you can get the dead cheap .. and look for waistcoats online ... then you can sell the suits & waistcoats making it alot cheaper than hiring
Hiya, not sure how good they are but they are in the running for my wedding suits but have you tried formally yours? includes everything apart from shoes i think for £57 :D Xx

That was our original plan, the only problem is the measurements and I know they deliver the suits 8 days before the wedding but my family live 3 hours drive away and won't be able to try them on before the day, so I can't risk having them put the suits on on the day and they don't fit right or don't look right etc. plus they don't do children's suits, only do accessory packs xxx

Are u sure its £200 per suit and not £200 per order....? Might be worth ringing and asking as I've just looked at their f&q and its a bit confusing ....yes it does say a security deposit of £200 is required to hire a suit, but that could be per party x

Aww no thanks for the suggestion hun, it's really appreciated! :-D xxx there is a suit hire place in town, it's a tiny bit more than wanted to pay, but it's a full package, can do the measurements, people can try them on and get one free too, so may try there :-D thanks all for your suggestions, you're all very helpful!! xxx

Our quote from there for 7 suits was £600 if that helps?
Cant see that it would be £200 PER suit, if it is its a wonder they get any business!!

We hired from greenwoods and they have a security deposit of £200 per suit, however they don't actually take the money, they just take your bank card details and if the suit doesn't arrive back or is damaged, they'll remove it then...it's a similar system to hotel minibars, I think xx

Ah right, it must be different from different places coz I know that Moss do take the money out, as have hired from there before, but as you say Mrs T 2 be, I swear it was never that much, it just said that in the brochure that it was £200 per suit or £400 for highland wear. I just thought there's no way on Earth am paying that much. xxx

i just ordered with them, it was really good! it's a £200 security cost for your full order to each suit and they dont take it out your bank they just take your card details incase you don't return the suits... They did a deal where if you order 5 suits the groom goes free so came to £408 in all for hire of everything.

I thought it would be £200 per order, per suit would be ridiculous....I guess if ur getting one suit then they'd have to do it but when ur ordering as a wedding party then yeah per order!

A security deposit of £200 (£400 for Highland wear) is always required for each set of Goods ordered on or before the Collection Date. The security deposit is payable in Store by credit card, debit card (not Electron or Solo cards). No Goods will be released until the security deposit has been received. The security deposit is held against the Goods hired and will be processed in the event that the Goods are not returned (which will be assumed if the Goods have not been returned within 5 days of the Return Date) or in the event that damage occurs to Goods which is not covered by accidental damage waiver.
Copied from moss bros ts&cs on there website...reads to me as though it's per group of suits hired.

Just thought I'd add that we hired our suits from there - it is £200 holding deposit per suit (we had to sign 7 different £200 slips)in case you do not return the suit (the old fashioned credit card slip, filled out and signed but not cashed and handed back to you on return of the suit). Also we had the buy 5 get one free offer - I think they do that all of the time. We also got a one off special which made each suit £80 (including the insurance bit). It ran for a month and we had to pay half of all suits during the promotion time - so if you have plenty of time to go, it's worth looking out for their special offers and ordering then x
