I have 2 little bridesmaid/flowergirls... they will be 9 and 11 when we get married. I want them in white dresses with a Red ribbon round the middle and red hair bands to match my colour theme and fur boleros. I am wondering if i get them a little bouquet of flowers to match the other BM's or something different? I think they will run off playing after the service and bouquets not looked after so maybe a waste of money.... what do you all think? I was thinking maybe fake flowers but not keen, a wand or something?
    Ta xx

The wand might be a nice idea :) Flower-wise I think fake probably the best bet! Maybe a little corsage type thing to wear on their wrists?

im having htis dilemma too although was thinking maybe put the bouquets on the tables (all bms) as the venue centerpieces are one flower lol and have no money left to pay for the others lol (everything is budgeted down to penny haha) still i like the idea of a smaller bouquet. and i agree fake probably best if they not gonna look after em after ceremony lol xx

The corsage idea is a good idea... we are having 2 florists... one is the church florist who is doing all the church flowers, bouquets and button holes for us but only charging cost for the flowers plus a donation to the church and then another florist for some flowers at the reception venue so im relecant for 2 more flowergirls bouquets too as alot for the church florist to do and already being so good to us plus cost me more money xx

Yeah to be honest I wouldn't spend a whole lot of money on little girls' flowers. I was a flower girl once (many moons ago...!) and had a little basket of silk flowers to carry around, and there were definitely a lot fewer flowers in it by the end of the day than I started out with!

Haha, yes i can imagine the basket will be empty before long.
I may opt for a basket or corsage xx

Madhen i can imagine you sitting in a corner sneekily pulling the heads off lol!
What about flowers in their hair to match the boquets? They may be less inclined to mess with them if they can't see them. You could probably pick some up really cheaply from claires or somewhere similar if you decided to do artificial xxx

We're having pink so I've got 2 pink cuddly bunnies for the girls to carry, as you say they'll throw the flowers as soon as they're able and this way they have something to play with during the service and it doubles up as a thank you gift! Going to get flowery headbands for their hair but other than that, keeping it simple :-)

Bunnies to carry is a good idea for little ones but they are 9 and 11 so bit too old to have teddies now but i love the idea of a red flower in their hair.... both are blonde with long hair so look nice with some curls !! xx

I'd think 9 and 11 are more junior bridesmaids rather than flower girls - so either an artificial bouquet or a little pomander bag would be nice, or failing that then maybe a horseshoe?

I am quite chilled about everything and rather everyone be comfortable and happy then dictated to by me about what to wear or do so told the girls they could choose there own dresses as long as they are white so may suggest to them some options and see what they want to carry? xx

My bridesmaids are going to be 8 and 9, we've decided to make them pomanders (kissing balls). I Like the idea of a corsage. Good idea to ask them, they may have imagined what they will be carrying already. xx

They could have a wand or hand wired basket (different designs mine are heart shaped) with rose petals inside using your wedding colours?

Thats what we are doing Liza247 :) You can buy off the bay of e and you get a smaller basket inside a bigger one so you get 2 for about £8 including postage. Then the silk petals you can get for around £3 depending on how many you need. We managed to get 1000 for £3 :) Then we bought 2 clip on white sparkly butterflys to clip on the outside and go with our theme. Hopefully my mums bringing the stuff with her today to show me as she says they're stunning. Plus they can't tip the petals everywhere, and they have something to keep that looks gorgeous :)

I was a flower girl '86 for my aunts wedding and I carried a long wooden stick with blue ribbon tied around and a round plant at the end. I can't remember what it was exactly but not so much fliwers it was mainly green with a bit of blue in it - like a trimmed hedge or plant :-)

My fower girl will have a pink draw string bag shaped like a cupcake and it will be filled with mini mini cupcakes (not edible ofc) which she will scatter while walking down :-)

Aww I love the idea of scattering petals on way down the aisle. I'm going for a pomander but think a wand sounds good. Only thing there is that my son will prob want a shot of it if it's particularly interesting lol x
