You may remember my "tear this apart" thread about having our wedding in Center Parcs. We are defo going to Center Parcs for the week, with the wedding on Sat 29th Dec.
Now I find myself with a great big wedding mixing bowl, only a few base ingredients, but I havent got a clue what to do for the rest and I am feeling major wedding stress.
We have decided to invite guests to the wedding & reception, which (fingers crossed) will be at a venue 10 mins drive from Center Parcs. In the "additional info" we will be inviting them to join us at CP from 28th Dec-1st Jan, should they wish. Almost as thought we were going abroad :-0
Our main stress is that we thought we had plenty of time to get it sorted, but in fact we havent, we need to know who will be staying at CP before 1st Sept 2011, as they will be releasing the accomodation and it is first come first served.
Also thinking about changing the colours even though I have 8 BM dresses. I need a chill pill or 10!

Yes, you need to chill out and relax.
It's not going to be that difficult to plan otherwise you wouldn't of decided to do it this way.
It's simple, you make a wedding website as soon as possible. Front page, explain they are invited to your wedding but you'd also like them to join you for the week in CP but as expense can be an issue you are leaving it for them to decide, no pressure. Just make sure you have all dates outlined properly, the date you need to know by, the dates of the holiday, the wedding.
Then make TWO RSVP pages, one for the actual wedding and one for the week away so you know exact numbers and you don't get confused.
I think the best way to do it is once you know who wants to be there for the week you just hand them all the details of how who and where to book and let them deal with it. Not your problem then

Thanks Mel.
Would it be rude if I send out the STD/invite and also arranged for CP to send a brouchure to them to arrive at the same time?
CommentAuthorMrsMelodyWalker
Nope, I expect they'd appreciate having all the details

I think it is a good idea, but I know some people are funny with junk mail etc
Personally, I'd be a bit annoyed if I received a brochure for them through from them as I'd assume that I had then been added onto yet another mailing list! Is there anyway that you could send them with the invites, or would that work out too expensive for you? Think it's a lovely idea to have your wedding party on holiday with you, by the way! Hx

I spoke to the CP people in the corporate section and I asked if they could send me 50 so I could send them on. But they flat out refused, strickly one per household and they said that they would happily send out the brochures for me. It would actually cost me around £2-£2.50 to send each one. confused.com

Could you ask CP not to add these people to the mailing list? Tbh, it would be against data protection legislation if they did as they do not have the permission of the receipient to do so...Hx

Either way I need to be giving them a call back and explore all options x
