I'm feeling really crappy today. I got asked "how far gone are you?" by an old lady this afternoon, she though my podgy belly was a pregnant one and I am trying so hard not to cry about it!
I have under 7 months till my wedding and I want to loose at least 4 stone, I know it's not going to happen but I seriously need some motivation, advice on how to get this weight off.
And please don't tell me Slimming World or Weight Watchers, they don't work for me and I have myfitnesspal and as great as it is, it doesn't stop me having a take away or tell me off if I'm not exercising!
I don't know where to start AGAIN!

are you sure ww wont work? I went from 12st to 8st? Could you think carefully about what you could do to limit the calories and keep a food diary and count up all the calories to make sure you dont go over. Ger hubby to be to monitor you and kick your bum if it doesnt work? I am putting h2b in charge next week to make sure I lose some as i normally now frluctuate between 8 and 9 dep on season... only recently gone waaaaaay OTT and gone to 9st 6ish so need to get my bum into gear. Im only 5ft ish so it really shows if I gain weight x

Oh hun, I went through a stage like this and it does get you down but it doesn't last forever. You will get yourself back on track. Unfortunately the only person that can make a change is you and you have to be in the right mind set to do it. You have to be honest with yourself and you have to work out what is causing you to do the bad habits and then find a way of dealing with them so you don't keep making the same mistakes. Unless your heart is fully wanting to do this then you won't do it no matter what aids you have helping you. I still have take a ways and other things but I make sure if I'm going to have something like that then the rest of the day is good. For example today I had a lemon cake with cream but I had a Tuscan salad for tea to make sure I didn't go over my calories for the day. It might help you if you plan your meals in advance so you don't result to eating take outs etc or reaching for things just because that is all that is left in the house.

What about the hypnotherapy gastrci band that Stevie_Dee had recently? If normal diets aren't working then maybe you could give that a go. I know it's easy to say but try not to worry honey, I found that when I stressed about my weight I tended to eat more but now I've been a bit more laid back about my weight I'm losing it so much easier. I follow scottish slimmers but this is the same as weight watchers. xxx

xjox thats really good advice about planning out meals... when im being good i write my meals for the week, only buy in that food and make sure i stick to it. If i go overboard, h2b removes a pair of shoes... if im good, I get a few quid in the wedding fund :) I think I will be motivated by this. Give yourself non food related treats for every milestone e.g. first 6lbs, first stone etc. This will help break it up and give you simething to look forward to. The food diary will help you identify bad habits and also write down times as if you eat a load of rubbish before tea, then you knoe your lunch isnt good enough to sustain hunger. It also helps you keep a good eye on what you are doing as you may not have realised before writing them down how unhealthy or calorific some of the foods can be.

I know what my problem is, I go all day without eating and then eat junk on an evening. I know how to change it, just need to find the motivation to do it. So much has been going on dieting has been the last thing on my mind but now I really need to sort it otherwise my dress won't fit and I will just look totally crap!

I have to admit that my h2b has been a great support to me and he weighs my food out when he cooks to make sure he is giving me the right amount etc. I had to come to terms with my past and find a way not to eat when I get emotional or stressed. Since I talked to someone on here about it I have been a lot better with dealing with it which is good. I think when you get married you put too much stress on yourself too. I found the more I tried to lose it the more stressed I got and the more I ate. As soon as I stopped panicking, ordered my dress in my size I've been able to tackle it again. I'm hoping I can get it taken in when it comes but if not it will still fit an the h2b loves me the way I am. You have to find a happy place in your head before you can move on.

my problem is eating when get in and when watching tele out of boredom. Therefore, from next week all snacks will be banned and I will walk the pooch and do school work instead of watching tele for a week or two until I can change this and watch tele without the need for food x

I got asked this the other day at work as well, and i very scarscistally (spellin) said oh he's 7 months old love.... don't think she got what i was saying.........lol..... but i can be done ....... as i'v now stopped breast feeding i have cut back on the amount i eat and started to go walking in the evening and so far i'v been geting comments about weight loss but still have my pudgy belly
and now the next chapter

You won't look crap so don't stress yourself out. You just need to take a deep breath and then start again. I've started my diet over so many times but I've got back to a happy place again so hopefully it will last this time. I find not buying the crap in the first place helps me not to eat it. Try to cut down on snacks and rubbish when you go to the supermarket so when you do get home you can't get hold of it. If you h2b wants to eat things like that then he eats them while he is out of the house to help support you.

My h2b is a weight lifter so is on a strict diet, he sticks to it so well and I cook everything for him but I don't do so well for myself!

A wise woman once told me that a trick to stop comfort eating is to hold the food that you want to eat and then take yourself to a happy place in your head. You can then put the food down and it helps you to stop eating out of emotions. It sounds silly but it does work.
