I've been given a list of recommended hymns from the area dean of the church but I haven't a clue way to pick. I know I have ages but want to choose them now so it's out the way x

If you go onto the church of england website it has a link to hymns on there where you can a listen to a snippet of them all. It might help you to decide if you can actually hear them? xx

I went to a wedding once where all the ushers and best man visibly (and loudly) fell about laughing at the 'purple headed mountain' line in All Things Bright and Beautiful
... Just something to think about ;)

Amazing grace is a good one. Sing hosanna, Jerusalem and morning has broken are also nice.

I'd be inclined to go for the more well known ones, particularly if a large number of guests don't attend church regularly.

We went to a wedding where one of the hymns was quite obscure and difficult to sing, don't forget people won't be able to practice before hand, it all sound a bit shambolic.

    Xx

We've chosen Jerusalem and Shine Jesus Shine so far, Jerusalem for FIW2B and SJS for my granddad as its the song we played at his funeral so I'll be trying not to cry but it means a lot to me. I think they need to have a meaning to them xx
