Some pubs have function rooms, royal british legion's usually have some, social clubs can be quite cheap if you become a member!

It depends what you want really, if you want a church wedding and your only looking for a reception venue, i agree with Lisa, village halls are normal really good and with a few touches you can turn it into your dream venue!!

If you want a civil and reception together - theres the obvious discount on having a wedding during the week! If thats not what you want then try and blagg it, sometimes it works but if its in the high season its probably not going to, but you don't get if you don't try.

Then if you don't need a lot of notice, you can always put your name down for a cancellation! a venue near me charge over 5K just for the venue, no catering, nothing!!

But they have just had a cancellation for september and you can get everything (3 course wedding breakfast, bridal suite, toasting champers, half bottle of wine per person and evening buffet) for 2500.

What area are you looking at - if your looking at essex i can let you know if i hear anything!
