what is everyone else paying for ring insurance? My engagement ring is an 18k white gold solitaire with a 1.52 diamond and all the quotes i'm getting are hundreds of pounds. Has anyone insured a similar ring and got a good deal on the insurance. I tried the house insurance but even that went up hundreds of pounds :(

about £3000. I've got an authenticity certificate. I found one site that i can get it for £60 but the conditions say "SIGNIFICANT EXCLUSIONS AND LIMITATIONS
    • Any loss arising where an insured person is connected with any form of professional entertaining.
    • Breakage of brittle items other than jewellery, unless, the breakage is caused by theft or fire.
    • Any loss caused by the actions of moths, vermin or gradual deterioration.
    • Any loss caused by wear and tear or mechanical derangement."
    Is this normal?

Mine's included with my home contents insurance. It covers me for £250,000 and 10k of that is for jewellery!
Have a look around at some there are some good deals where they can be included in the home one's.

yeah we added mine to our home contents as an itemised piece as it has a high value so had to be listed seperately, it didn't affect our premium at all!

Wear and tear and vermin are standard exclusions on insurance, yes. But the " Any loss arising where an insured person is connected with any form of professional entertaining.
    • Breakage of brittle items other than jewellery, unless, the breakage is caused by theft or fire." is a bit bizarre.

Have you tried getting quotes elsewhere for your home insurance with the ring included as a personal belonging? Also when you do look at quotes, make sure it's actually going to be covered when you leave the house because some insurers are cheeky sods.
