Sorry for this but needed to get it off my chest. We have 18mths to the wedding and as we are both living at my parents while working full time my mum has says its important for us to have our own place when we get married and everytime we go for a meal maybe once a month my mum has a moan complaining that we need to save up we both earn £900 a month but have £400 to spare after bills and this goes on food, leisure and trying to get things for the wedding. I dont need this stress. we have managed to pay the deposit on the venue and photographer so far and get odd bits for invites. His mum is in the process of trying to sell her house to help us out. We both had no savings to start with so trying to pay for things as we go and set up DD to spread the cost.

maybe say to your mum once the wedding has been then you will use the money that you had been putting towards the wedding to then go towards a deposit

Wow like Becky said, how much are your bills? Do you have to pay rent to your parents? If so could they maybe half it and you could put the other half towards a deposit?

Try to keep your chin up. 18 months is still lots of time to save. Maybe your mum thinks that you're going for 3 course meals or something and spending a fortune?! Lol.

    Can't wait to be married!

WE have our own house and a budget of £1000.oo for our wedding, our outgoings come to around £900 and month with two kids and all the bills etc . We are finding it hard to pay for our wedding but are managing, sorry but can't understand how you are struggling so much when you live with your parents.
