    Hello Ladies,

So we finally found a venue we loved and around our £2000 budget. The problem is booking a time with the registry office people. The date we wanted only has a 11am time slot.

There next saturday has 3:30 ... this is september 2016.

Is this to late in the day?

We are having afternoon tea and then finger buffet on the night.

    Can you suggest timimgs?

    Thanks

I wouldn't say 3.30 was too late but to me it would seem a bit of a waste of the day and you wouldn't get to spend as much of it with your OH. Timings wise though I think it would work out fine.. by the time you've had photos you will probably sit down for afternoon tea at 5/5.30ish and you could then have the buffet about 9pm - though be mindful that a lot of your day guests might not be overly hungry so don't cater for them all x

I agree 3.30pm isn't too late, but depends on if want to have a whole day with family and friends or just a evening.. I want a whole day with everyone , want it go on for as long as possible ..ha.. so our ceremony is at 12. I been to a few weddings where married at 11am :)

It is not too late. I got married at 3pm purely because I did not want to feed the guests twice. As it was all at the same venue, after the 3pm ceremony we had a couple of hours before we ate. It gives you time in the morning to get ready leisurely.

We get married 3.30 in church then a small buffet and then a big hot n cold buffet later.. i have 2 young children so a full day of a load of people isnt ideal for us. Gives me time to not rush gettin them ready and myself :-)

I'd look at what you want to happen during the day/night and how long/ what time they can happen and work out to see if you can fit it in with the time being 3.30 :) x

It's booked :) 3:30 10th September. Rang the wedding co-ordinator to discuss my insane panic. haha

Since were having an afternoon tea rather than a 3 course breakfast it should flow better with less time for people waiting around.

I never though i'd be one of those people to worry about the wedding and how everything will be but for the amount of money it's costing I can't help but freak out a bit.

We're getting married at 3, I like the idea of having the morning to relax, might even get myself a cheeky massage to work out any stress. Glad you got it sorted tho and your happy with how your day will work!

Thanks. I like your thinking... Might sneak in a massage myself. I am just liking the fact I don't have to get up super early.

Our wedding is at 4pm, I've booked myself & the bridemaids rooms at our local hotel so we have the morning to relax in the spa :)

We booked a later wedding as we want our whole family there for the whole day, rather than separate day/evening guests, the main expense with that many guests was food. By making it later we have cut out the need to serve 2 meals, instead we are just having a buffet which will open sometime around 6:30pm.

Also from personal experience all day weddings drag a bit, there are so many lulls where nothing is going on, we prefer the evening side when everyone's up dancing :)

Were getting married at 2.30 then 3 course meal at 4pm then onto the reception, I'd rather it be later but this is the latest time the venue does - hopefully it means less waiting around and more of a flowy day :) xx
