Well i have decided to stop smoking in the hope i will no longer crave those nasty little white sticks on my wedding day and that my H2B doesnt need to kiss an ash tray.

So far this is day one!!!! and the craving for a cigarette is awfull!!!

Is anyone doing the same in kicking this habit befor etheir big day? im ok as not getting married until next year but thought i would try kick it early.

Any advice from past smokers who have stopped will be greatly welcomed. This is my 3rd attempt to stop!!!

    Wish me luck!!

Thats what I'm starting to do, the cough will be horrendous from week one, but will ease after a few weeks, when your body has cleared the crap from your lings, keep busy, best with your hands. something creative? Maybe design invitations, favour boxes, etc.

Hi well done with day one. I gave up smoking 8 weeks this week and feel loads better for it. Everytime i had a fag i had nasty visions of seeing me in my dress with a fag in my hand looking a sight for sore eyes and i dont regret it. It does get better with each day x

Nicpep im so sorry! im just hoping the stress of work tomorrow wont make me fall and want one. I have gum galor, elastic bands round my wrist and alan carrs stop smoking on my ipod.

Im wanting to loose weight aswell. Not a good combination as all i wanna do is eat at the moment but my thinking is once the withdrawls have gone i may get back to normal eting the fruit again.

Thanks Steph.....i had that same image!! how awfull to have a gorgeous white dress looking lovely and ruin it with a fag in ya gob!!! not very attractve is it! :-(

It'll be hard and i know i may have slip ups but im determind. I have no lighters anywhere or the sneaky pack of fags i normally hid.

Nicpep ive tried patches and sadly they give me a rash and the previous time i tried nicotinelle lozengers but as im on medication for my stomach i found was unable to use them. So this time im going cold turkey!!!!! ahhhhhhhhhhha

Ben's mum has managed to give up, and she got one of those kits from nhs - go online and order one, you get a cool little kit :) heh.

GOOD LUCK!!! you can do it. Well tomorrow on lunch, have a wander over to see me rather than having one :) x

iv just stopped, been off them since thursday and im finding it hard and im a right grumpy cow! i got a quit kit a while ago and it didnt give me the motivation i needed so i couldnt do it then, but iv been going to a stop smoking service by the nhs, i go to boots to see someone once a week and they give you loasds of support (its nota group or anything, its all one on one) you get prescribed the nicotine replacemant stuff so its much cheaper than buying it all. i dont think id have had enough will power to do it without the patches/inhalator but im determined to stick to it, plus im saving over £35 a week! x
