ok. so we decided to enquire about some cruises which I think I have mentioned and only a 12 day cruise for two is 4300 which is steep but will be booked as a last alternative. This basically goes all round italy with a few other stops and there is only 1 full day at sea. Alternatively, we were thinking will it be much cheaper if we pick two locations in italy and spend a week at one and then a week somewhere else? Problem is, without pools etc in many of the hotels and without beaches, would we get bored?
We will be flying out ideally second week in Aug. If anyone has any suggestions regarding italy or anywhere else then please help us out. Many thanks X

Hey there I've only been to Milan in Italy, we stayed for 4 days and we didn't get bored at all even though there were no pools or beaches. Then again we basically just shopped the entire while haha.
I'd say find someplace that has a lot of museums or sights you'd like to see, then you'll never get bored. We recently went to Spain for a week and we didn't get to do everything we wanted to and we only spent two days at the pool! It all depends on what you want to do while you're there really. We are going on a mini cruise around Italy which takes us past Capri and Amlfi Coast. We are going Pompei and mount vesuvious where we can walk to the top and look at the edge of the volcano.
There are so many things, at night Sorrento its self is turned in to street party and not vehicles can go in to the town, its all shut off with big light and bars and partys
