    Hi Ladies....
Since being around the family for Christmas, talk of my wedding come up a few times. Not only did my MIL2b take me into town to show me a dress she decided she wanted to buy to wear for the wedding (turquiose & gold) My niece has now decided that she wants to wear her sodding chelsea shirt to the wedding! After my SIL said she couldnt, its now been put to me that my niece now wants to cut out a chelsea team badge out of her shirt and sow it on to a royal blue dress!!
TBH - its miffed me because everyone knows the colour theme so why would you even suggest to wear the same colour as the wedding..i dont get it.
I made sure i told my SIL that this wasnt going to happen because no guests were allowed to wear any type of blue colour.
I was wondering if there was any way i could tell the guests that i didnt want them to wear blue. (my invites have already been filled out and enveloped up ready to be sent) so adding something to the invites isnt an option. HELP!!!

We put on our invitations about not wearing the bridal colours. Do you have a wedding website? Could you add a sticker as a seal to the envelope with the info on? Otherwise, you'd have to tell the guests ('phone or text?) not to wear your blue.

I personally think that rather inconsiderate of others to pick oufits in the colours you specifically said not to!
Have you thought about starting your own wedding website? PUt something on there, or just email and text everyone saying please dont wear blue as it is upsetting you, or something like that?

as for the footy badge, no way on this earth would i even consider wearing a football top or badge to a WEDDING!!!! And seriously no way i would let a guest wear a top or badge! I think that's ridiculous personally! It is a special occasion, not a booze up down the pub watching footy with your mates. Just my opinoin of course, but i it is upsetting you then speak up, or else before you know it everyone will be taking little liberties here there and everywhere and you will feel it is thier day not yours

I'm going to request all my guests to wear something in "pastel colours" as my theme is royal blue and deep red lol! Maybe you could steer them towards other colours if they start digging their heels in - jokingly or otherwise! Tell them either they stop being so blooming inconsiderate and pick something else, or you're going to have to enforce a dress code of something horribly dull and unflattering!

If there is definitely no way to add the info to the invites then the wedding website idea is a good one :) x

Our colour scheme was royal blue - but I didn't specify to any of our guests that they couldn't wear anything blue. I preferred them to be happy and comfortable for the day in something that suited them. After all, guests are in the same clothes all day as well so have to feel good about what they wear. In fact, my mil and aunty both wore ivory dresses - and two of the guests wore blue (patterned) outfits.

There was no mix up between them and the wedding party - because if your dress and your bm's/flower girls etc dresses are good enough then no one is going to overshadow them so I can't see the problem tbh.

I can understand the problem of your niece wanting to wear a Chelsea badge on her dress though - not because of the colour but because it will look ridiculous lol.

Thanks Janie i set mine up yesterday.
Mym... I understand that it is important for the guests to be comfortable but having blue as well as the wedding party would be like we'd be fading into the background. My opinion anyways. \
