My dress fitter was asking me today if I was getting someone to steam my dress for me? I hadn't even thought of that. Do I need to have it steamed? And if so whats a decent price to have it done?

I was at a wedding once where the bride had kept her dress hanging up in the bathroom, steam from the bath had sorted it out apparently. Whatever you do under no circumstances attempt to iron it yourself, so easily damaged.

I'm hoping to have it hung most of the time especially last week or so! Then I will probably do the whole bath steam thing!

I tried steaming my bridesmaid dresses in the bathroom it did nothing but make them damp! I had my wedding dress hung up for about 6 months and thought hanging it over night before the wedding would get the creases out, however my bridal shop advised me otherwise. My wedding dress was free to steam from the shop i bought it from and i got it done the day before the wedding.

I did have to pay for my bridesmaid dresses which where £10 each. Personally i would'nt risk doing the bathroom steam trick with the wedding dress, last thing i want it get it is damp and modly! xxx

I've no idea why it worked for that particular bride, perhaps it was down to ventilation or something. Our bridesmaids dresses were hung the same way.

My dressmaker said to just steam in the bathroom but I'm unsure about this too!
