    or adapting old one's!
Just wondered if anyone else was starting their own traditions, adapting old ones or doing something unique to make your wedding stand out. I love anything quaint or sentimental and it would be interesting to see what other people are having.
    What we are having...
    1) Our Thank you gifts are going to be given at the Rehearsal Dinner the night before, each gift is something that can be worn on the day. That way we can make it a bit more leisurely and personal.
    2) Momento bags - Steve and I are givng each other a momento bag to include a little printed booklet which will include a promise, a wish for the future, a dare, and an I.O.U, with a space on each one to write in. We are each adding something v small that the other has to wear secretly on the day. Then adding small gifts and momento’s. There is a thread on Momento bags if anyone wants any ideas.
    3) Little bells - My mum wants me to embrace our Irish roots, so she wants guests to each have a bell on leaving Church to ring and chase away the evil spirits and bring harmony to the couple. We have decided to attach our little bells by a length of ribbon to the bottom of our confetti cones to collect as they leave church. It will be mentioned on our website and wedding programme that these can be rung as the bride and groom leave the church and on the couple arriving at reception.
    4) We are asking our guests that if possible, could they bring a ‘Gold coloured tree ornament’ homemade or bought. We are sending little message cards which they can attach to the ornament string, for them to write a small message on. They can then hang it on the 9ft Christmas tree at the beginning of reception. We can then keep the cards and use the ornaments on our tree each year as a reminder. We have already mentioned this to a lot of our guests and they seem v keen on the idea, and some are starting to look for an unusual or unique ornament.
    5) Christmas crackers with a raffle number in for a bottle of Champagne. Wedding crackers are available tho now for Weddings any time of the year.
    6) We are having our guests have their photo taken with Santa.. They can wear reindeer ears, santa hats etc. which will be provided. Then have 2 photos of each couple/family/guest, one for in the guest book above their message and one to send with their Thank you cards.

I'm doing the tradditions I like the sound of such as something old something new. I'm having blue ribbons with the names of our loved ones that can't be there on the day made into little bows and sewn into my dress but I would say that is about it.

Love that idea too Mrs Hall2b. xxx

I want a poem on the back of my wedding programme to remember my dad. Also got his sixpence from his coin collection so in effect he will be walking with me down the aisle. Love the ideas of including the names of other people that won't be there. xx
