So I'm having a spray tan on Thursday. I just wanted to know as this is my 1st tan would I still need foundation make up on the morning of the wedding or will the tan be enough on its own with my other eye make up etc.?? And has anyone tried the Katy Perry lashes. I brought some kitty cool ones yesterday that I'm going to put on for the wedding. Never had them before but look pretty easy to put on. Has any one had there lashes, and how did you find them.? Thanks girls

Well I I was told as long as I exfoliate well I wouldn't need to trial it. My step daughter had one a while back and hers was fine once the bronzer has been washed off. Oh that's good about the glue on the lashes, I had visions of them peeling off at the alter. Lol.

Buy a cheapy pair of false lashes to practice putting them on if you're doing it yourself it's NOT as easy as it looks!
im having a spray tan a couple of days before. last time i ahd one i didn't use any foundation, infact since which is a few months agao i havent used any foundation! i find that just a bit of either blusher or a light bronzer is plenty to add with the eye make-up. but do make sure for the next week you scrub really well and after you've had it done keep well washed and moisturised or you'll go patchy quite quickly. get the exfoliating and the moisturising right and you shouldn't notice any or much patchyness as it fades. as for lashes, ive not used katy perry ones but cheap ones with cheap glue is a no go. just make sure they're on straight n thats it xx

Yeah I def agree with biochrissy on the exfoliation and moisturing part cause spray tans can go patchy quicker than u would think!! (the inside of my arms and back of knees tend to go first). Also be very careful with your elbows, knuckles and feet/heels afterwards-prob best to wipe them with a damp cloth cause the tan tends to gather here and sometimes it can look awfully heavy and dodgy the next day-so take care of these areas-particularly your feet if you plan to wear nice open sandals!!
as for makeup, if you want a nice natural look u might get away with just adding light bronzer or blusher. I'm useless with false eye lashes so unfortunately I can't advise u there sorry-I always have to get my sisters help on that and even then I feel weird wearing them. I'm not used to them-I always end up taking them off before I go out lol!!!!

I'm a trained spray tan technician and I must say I do find it odd that they didn't suggest a trial especially for such a big day. Everyone's skin reacts differently and there are different strengths that can be used to get the best colour or a lighter/darker tan. However, all you can do is exfoliate as much as possible before and then moisturise as much as possible afterwards. In terms of hard skin areas, I use a barrier cream so they don't go darker and it works wonders. (And remember to not moisturise on the day of your tan as some solutions mixed with moisturiser make the skin go green.)
I have also used the Katy Perry lashes, they took me ages to get them on looking right but that is because I am not very good at applying them even after doing them countless times. But the glue is fantastic, just make sure you have some to hand in case you need to touch up.

So I thought I would go and exfoilate and moisturize. Oh my goodness can't believe how long it took me. Must of took me a good 45 minutes. Well feel very fresh and buffed. Lol Roll on tomorrow and do It all again. Then hopefully once I get my spray tan Thursday evening I shouldn't be patchy. Lol

You may still need foundation on the day, or you my be able to get away with a touch of concealer to cover and minor breakouts! Foundation isn't designed to give you colour, more to even the complexion.
If only life could be one long tea break

I can't believe that the salon hasn't advised you to have a trial before your wedding ! I have only ever had one spray tan and it was at an expensive spa but i looked awful-streaky and a bit like i had been varnished lol . Now that said i have also tried loads of self tans at home (including v expensive ones)and every time however carefully i apply etc i end up like Tony the Tiger so its obviously my skin type thats at fault. But how do they know that your skin won't react like mine? I am sure it won't (out of everyone i know i am the only one who reacts like this) but i personally wouldn't take the risk! I might add that with the sun/sunbed i tan beautifully and i am not really pale, naturally i have an olive toned skin. Didn't want to worry you but i would kick myself if i didn't say anything and you were unhappy with the result xxx

Well as you can see it is only 4 days till I get married so a trial now isn't an issue. I have used spray tan out of a can and never been a problem. I don't tend to get break outs I'm 42 and have grown out of spots lol. All I can do is do what I'm doing and hope for the best. If its that bad on Friday when I get up ill shower a few times through the day and then again on Saturday. I'm sure ill be fine.

As a photographer I know that the bride getting a spray tan is the bain of my life......becasue the rest of the guests dont have the spray tan and so the bride looks too dark next to them in the pictures..... its a case of darkening everyone elses face, or lightening hers up, so they all look good together, in which case that spray tan has been a waste of money. A nice healthy glow is OK, but some go over the top and I HAVE to sort it out in editing......and the bride is on 90% of the photos so theres a lot of them! LOL
I can resist anything but temptation

Lol. I can imagine. Well a healthy glow is what I'm going for. I really do want the tan so the photographer will have to work his magic. My mum is getting a tan too. Tbh if you are having a white or ivory dress I think you need it else you look drained. My opinion. Ill be fine.
