I was DREADING finding out about the VAT increase becos as im not gettin married until 2011 and the VAT going up by 2.5% i was panicking thinking all of my fees were going to go up!

Que receiving a letter this morning to tell me that the only prices that are going up is the accommodation :) YAY!!!!

Was panicking for ages cause there was nothing written in the contract to state that we had a set price but im just so relieved now!

Wud recommend to everyone to check if ur gettin married after jan 11!

Most of the things I have booked are set at this years prices so I'm lucky but I'm getting all the things I can get now. Just got the wedding rings etc as the price of gold is set to go up soon as well. Pleased that you managed to secure a good deal as well. It will be interesting to see how much the registrar fees will go up by.

yeah i did. unfortunately they will charge us 20% :( even though on our contract it 17.5% could i get away with saying no im only paying 17.5% hehe

That does sound relief worthy - we've been told we'll only be charged VAT increase and that's fine with us :)
