My mum wants me to wear her ring that my gran gave her before she died, as my something borrowed it does fit only trouble is it is gold and I don't really like gold and all my other accessories will be white gold/silver... would this look out of place? Also my mum wants me to pin a the best way to describe it is a kilt pin page it's made of material and it was granddad's battle kilt as my something old, but I am not sure if that will be uncomfortable... And although I love my grandparents very much and not sure I want to have them too close to my heart and cause tears and upset before the day has begun... I'm a been unreasonable?!? Something blue no idea xx

how about attaching the pin to your garter? which could also be blue? or maybe use the pin in your bouquet? as for the ring im not sure how to get round that one maybe put it on a silver chain? or you could turn your garter into like a charm bracelet...... put the ring on it ,the pin ,make it blue and attach a sixpence and maybe see if you can borrow a bracelet or similar to add to it then you have th ewhole rhyme completed you have all the things people would like you to have and its all hidden from view????

I have found my blue and old .... and adding to my new lol!! Well, my Mum had a brainwave!!
When I as 10 maybe younger? We went on holiday and did the whole pick an oyster thing to get a pearl. We did this twice (on 2 occasions) and one of the pearls I picked is blue and apparently quite a rare pearl also. So I am going to look to have this along with my pure white pearl put into a necklace.
We tried to look for borrowed as well but we found a pearl bracelet but its sadly too big :( & the clasp doesn't look like it can be adapted.

I've got everything now, went round my auntie's yesterday who said she'd been handed down a gold and pearl brooch from her gran (my great gran), which she wore pinned to her bra on her wedding day. She said she was happy to lend it to me to wear on my wedding day too - so that will double up as both something old and something borrowed. :) I'm really chuffed as I loved my great gran, used to spend a lot of time with her when I was younger.

I thought I had old/borrowed as I was going to wear my mothers veil however we had a look and it is very deffinatly Ivory and my dress is white. I talked to the bridal salon who said that because it is very delicate belgian lace that cannot bleach it white. Had it been white and my dress Ivory they possibly could have dyed it!

My OH did all this for me. On the wedding morning he sent me a gift bag containing chocolates etc. but there was a lucky sixpence for my shoe, a blue garter with our names and wedding date on, one of his old money clips for my old and borrowed which contained his initials as he knew I couldn't fit a purse in my bag - so sweet of him x x
