Wedding Forum - Something old, something new, something...

only thing I need to my borrowed too! loved reading through this, as its been a great help for ideas. Hope you find something interesting! If you've not got your car sorted.... and if you know a friend with a fancy car, you could borrow that for the day maybe? and i'm 100% sure they'll want that back, unlike a hankercheif, which people might convince you to maybe keep, as a momentum of the day.

I'm not very superstitious, but don't want to take any chances with something as important as this, so i'm hoping to have everything for the rhyme

im half way there lol.... something blue is a crystal horseshoe to pin on me and also the i do stickers under my shoes lol, new is dress and everything else ..... borrowed and old i need to think about??? thanks for the tips!

my old is my wedding ring or my silk gloves if I use them. my new is my headband I just need something blue which will probably be my garter. although as we are having a seaside theme it should be easy enough to get blue in somewhere lol

well I was thinking of more a sandy colour as it goes better with my dress but I'm sure I could add a splash of blue

OOh actually - did you say you were wearing a hat/veil piece? Could you borrow a fancy hat pin ?

see im stuck on this. my aunts are buying me a tiara type thing as my new. my moh has got me something blue. really wanted something of my mums (she passed away few years ago) but she wasnt a horder and theres nothing i could use, she has a tree where her ashes are buried but not sure if would be classed as borrowing if i had a branch from that in my flowers somewhere... its a tricky one tradition aye x

can i use my enterance music as my something old ?

Will you be wearing nail varnish? If so then maybe a friend could lend you their bottle, and you could give it back after the wedding?

My something old is him (or my shoes im sure a couple of years counts as old)
My something new will probably be my dress
Something borrowed we will see what people offer
Something blue is my garter and my engagement ring.

Something old = small picture of my dad in a frame attached to my bouquet
Something New = just about everything I'm wearing
Something borrowed = Thinking of a bracelet or watch from someone
Something blue = flowers

Not doing sixpence but am trying to find a small horseshoe to attach to my garter or bouquet for luck x

I did this the first time round but I don't think I'll bother this time, not given it much thought. I'm not overly superstitious but I might decide at the last minute, and then panic I've got nothing blue, just out of tradition.

OLD - Little blue bow which was on my mum's garter she has sewn onto my hoop skirt

New - Dress
Borrowed - not thought about it yet :-S

Yes I like the idea of the blue flower stitched into the petticoat. Its something only you and your new hubby will know about, well unless you flash your legs I suppose! xx

Just got to sort the dress now :)

Mine are all sorted now thankfully, and I'm doing a groom's version for h2b as well.
Mine are:
Something old - my necklace. My mum wore it with her 'going away' outfit at her wedding to Daddy.
Something new - H2B is buying me a bracelet to match
Something borrowed - I'm pinning my Grandpa's RAF Wings to my bouquet.
Something blue - my garter has blue ribbon on it.

For H2B:
Something old - I've named a star after us for the wedding. Doesn't get much older than a star!
Something new - I'm getting him some silly wedding socks saying "groom" in our wedding colours.
Something borrowed - I've made him a CD, "borrowing" all of our songs that have been important to us since we got together.
Something blue - I've put a picture of us on some blue card with pretty edging for him to have in his suit pocket.

That's very sweet - I want to do a similar thing for h2b for him to have on the wedding morning. Borrowing something for him off his grandad is a very good idea - may I steal. He was also in the RAF and has pins. That in itself doesn't mean so much to h2b but this grandad means the world to him (we named our son after him) and the RAF means a lot to grandad. Great idea!

My grandpa means the absolute world to me, he's really special. I almost asked him to walk me down the aisle instead, and I've chosen our favourite song in the world as my walking down the aisle music. I wanted something sentimental that reminded him how much i love him!

LittleMissBossy - completely irrelevant, but went in BnM Bargains yesterday and spotted loads of forresty kind of garden features which could you might like to use? Just thought I'd mention it :) xxxx

Ohh LMB it's amazing. It's like Ikea x with Poundland x with BHS. There isn't anything you can't get in BnM bargains!!!
