MIL has offered to pay for some bits for the wedding, hotel, flowers, dress, money towards reception. Which is very nice of her. We had a meeting with her the other day and said that we needed to know how much or what she was paying for so we knew how much we were paying. I've already paid for the hotel and bought some of the silk flowers which I told her, when I mentioned the deposit for the florist she said ' will you be needing some money before the wedding?' my reply was 'yes, we'll be needing all of it before the wedding' she said 'oh' and looked confused.
When the hell else would we need it? It's no bl00dy good after when we haven't had the things we wanted 'cos we couldn't pay for them. When buying for things people generally want their money before they give you stuff. I wonder when she was planning on paying for things.

How strange .... maybe she thought you'd be able to pay for it all and then she'd pay you back? Or maybe her money is tied up in an account that she has to give notice on?

thats strange! it is a bit obvious you would need it before. i think you should sit down and tell her exactly how much it is and when you need it for. hopefully that will help xx

I'm going to give Kiz the invoices that I've already paid to give to his mum for her to reimburse. I ent her the email from the florist asking for deposit too so we'll see what happens.
