Just did the budget for this month and we're skint AGAIN!!!
We're both on good salaries but what with all the bills, paying loans, paying parents back, saving for wedding we're once again skint!!!! £4 spare after everything comes out!
How does everyone cope with having a house n saving up?
Me and my h2b havent been out in aaaaaaaaages and I know its bugging him as hes starting to mention the dreaded CREDIT CARD!!!!!
Just worry sometimes that maybe we are saving up just that bit too much!!!!

I might just buy a ticket :) Its the 11th of the month and we only have £50 left for diesel and £55 left for shopping...... I hate having to budget n that I remember a time wen i earnt my money and I spent it on new clothes, nights out, cinema, meals etc etc When exactly did i become an adult please? x

<<< skint also and we havent even started saving for wedding yet :-( im only working part time and h2b is only working max 10 hours a week if that and we struggle every month to pay bills im having to cut my hours at work to 16 because jobcentre wont help us otherwise and work havent got more hours for me h2b wont look for another job which is frustrating and all i keep saying to him is "will we ever be able to save for our wedding" we live with his parents at the mo which is also frustrating cause all they pay for is gas and electric and they expect us to pay the rent which i think is unfair ( its £510 a month ) which is basically my wages my h2b has got 2 kids which he has to pay for aswell so i really dont know whether our wedding will go ahead :-(

i know what you mean, since we got engaged and started saving for the wedding, we just dont seem to have any spare money, also we have been saving for a holiday which we go on on friday, we have paid some of the deposits for the wedding which is good but there just never seems to be enough to go around, we cannot buy anything nice and we dont go out very often and we find we are having to count up pennies to get bread or fuel for work, i am hoping it gets better once we have been on holiday x

know how u feel hun, the head casket went on our car £300 to fix, had to put the bike through MOT, insurance, and tax for it, plus for the next 2 months cant pay anything towards the wedding unless people give us the money that they owes us as have to pay £73 per week for backdated council tax which prob doesnt sound that bad but when we are on jsa which is only £170 per fortnight it suck as thats all the jsa money and we then have to pay all the other bills, food, nappys etc.. on what i have coming in which is only £130 per week, stress isnt the word at the mo xx

im so glad im not the only one! its just so frustrating! ive had to text him today to beg him not to use our joint account anymore this month as we have nothing left :( its horrible being the one who keeps an eye on things but if i didnt i know no1 would! xx

tell me about it, my H2B is so bad its not even funny, like yesterday i had £50 in my purse which was electric, gas, rent, nappys, tv licence, and he turns round and say oh seeing as u have that money in your purse lets go out for lunch, he then got in a sulk coz i said no we dont have the money sometimes i dont think they live in this world xx

they just dont get it sometimes do they! its not as if we're the bad person we're just the ones who keeps an eye on things! not neccessarily our fault if money is tight - just we're the one who realises lol! its hard being a woman sometimes lol x

i know how everyone feels i dont have a car but h2b has a bike and his mot and tax is due this month and there is loads that we have just paid out to get it all sorted its driving me mad not having any to go out! but i have had to put the wedding back but hopefully i can start bring it forward soon!! but we still need to get over 300 to get carpet in the frontroom!!

Wow, was just feeling really down today about lack of money, glad to hear I'm not the only one struggling!
Car tax is due end of this month, really need to pay off credit card (I panic if I have any money on there! lol), trying to buy wedding things as and when but not getting too far! Ever since we started saving for the wedding, money seems to be in extremely short supply. And we are in the same boat as most on here, paying out loads for the household bills, saving for wedding, wanting to go out, somewhere...anywhere and I keep seeing things for the wedding I sooo want but can't have:( So depressing x x x

fairytale.. if you contact your local council (number on council tax bill) tell them you're having real difficulties paying your tax, they should send you an application form for extra help. Its called Application for discretionary housing payment (DHP) its for extra help with rent and council tax. Just had to do mine as h2b is currently paying out nearly £300 a month to pay towards a credit card. Bigest mistake he ever did, applying for that credit card. They charge him so much interest its unbelievable, 95% of the monthly payment is interest. We put £2000 towards paying it off and after they took interest and charges it didnt even bring the balance up by £1000. We're just scraping by as it is and I was thinking how are we going to afford this wedding?!?!?! As for going out..ha... the last time we went out was on my birthday last year :(:( My belief is... hang in there, you'll get there!!!!

I cope by lending money from my mum and going there for dinner at the weekends! We would be hungry without my mum. Thank God for mum's, thats what i say!

We are skint as well. Done the shopping had 4 birthdays in a week have car tax due also have another 2 birthdays 2 come wedding items pay off, Playschool fees and house bills. Its madness we haven't beenout in ages and probably wont have a night out til July and thats if we are lucky. Can't wait get this month over with. x x x

So glad Im not the only one! Ive been stressing all day over money. My car failed its MOT but I cant even afford to get it sorted cos I only have £5 now to last me till the end of the month. H2b is just as skint n we havent got any money saved for the wedding :( it seems like since we booked it everythings gone wrong. And my tax is due at the end of june :( xxx

Thats the same as us nic. Since we booked our wedding we moved, the whole flat needed carpets, plus a cooker and fridge freezer so all our money for the wedding went on that. Im lucky my mum is helping. Chin up though, things will sort themselves out hun x

suz cant get any help coz its not council tax at the moment as thats cover coz we on jsa, but it backdated council tax from a couple of years ago when H2B was working, but thanks hun, will feel so much better once that is paid off, only got to get to end of june and then its paid xx

Just thought I'd add to the list of skint people. Me and h2b are moving house and are going to have to find an extra £200 rent every month. Also not been on holiday in the last two years and only holiday this year will be attending a friend's wedding in Sunderland. I think you always look at other peopel and think they must be fine, without any money worries, but I think generally everyone has money issues xx
