do what you and your h2b want. i always found that wedding fayres were for people with a lot of money to spend on their wedding to be honest. they are brilliant for getting ideas but i havnt used a single supplier from any of the fayres i went to! xx

Do whatever will make you feel happy and comfortable. The best bit of any wedding is when the bride and groom look really happy.

have ur wedding the way u want! cant believe how rude that woman was! xx

Have the wedding that makes you happy...getting married is about two people and all the rest are just add ons. I don't see the point in spending loads and loads of money you can ill afford just to make other people happy. Stick to it being YOUR wedding. You don't need to spend the earth to have a fabulous day. Our wedding cost 2K and it was brilliant xxxxxx

we have a tiny budget for our wedding and have chosen the registry office for our service and a sports and social club for an evening do. its your special day have what you want and know you can afford. these people try to make you feel you have to have it all when really you dont. its all about you and your H2B making those special vows to each other. just use the ideas you see and source them out for a better price if its something you would like

ok louise, i know how u feel. our wedding is in the church that h2b was baptized in and then we going into the working mens club next to it for the reception. we have a low budget and i dont care any more what people think. its not where u get married and celebrate, its doing it for the right reasons and around those who truly care and love you. screw that bitch, she had no right looking down her nose at you! have the wedding u want, in the way u want. if people really care about how much u spent on it and where u have it, then they arent really worth knowing tbh. hope all works for u in the end xx

Awww, I'm sorry you had such a horrible experience at this wedding fare! They're real so and so's for trying to make you feel as though what you're doing isn't good enough. And then there' friends/family that can make you feel that way too (don't get me started on that LOL)! Hun, it's your day and your way (a phrase you'll see a lot on this site) so by all means go to the fairs, but use them for inspriation and getting ideas and as hlaraine1 said, then go find them online/elsewhere for waaaaay cheaper! You're day will be wonderful, whether you have it at the Hilton or in your own home because it's your day and it's about you, both of you, being united on that day. Hx

What an awful woman to make you feel that way! Have the wedding exactly the way you want it as there is nothing chavvy at all!!! I did a wedding years ago where they literally spent a fortune but it was sooo gaudy and OTT it was the most chavtastic thing I had ever seen! ha ha. Mind you at a wedding fair someone asked if I was the bride just because I was in a wheelchair!!! Needless to say she wouldnt be getting any business from me!!!

Jilly17 - that's funny - that happened to me at the NEC wedding show in March! I had fallen off my bike 3 weeks before the show and decided I couldn't face it on crutches so hired a mobility scooter. the number of stalls that blanked me was amazing! Oh, but my SiL to be (only 7 yrs older than me) got asked if she was my mum, which she was not amused at! lOL!

Your wedding is about how you two want to celebrate your love for each other so screw them; if your idea is what makes you happiest, then stick to it; you're always going to have critics of some description but at the end of the day it's about you and your h2b not anyone else

What a snotty c*w! We're doing the same as you Louise, parish church where i grew up and the Working Mens Club round the corner after. I can't wait!
I would use recommendations from friends and family and suppliers from here maybe. I've been to one of those wedding fayres and won't be hurrying back to any more!
Can't wait to be married!

awww Don't be upset by that horrible woman! You're off to a good start with booking a date and venues that mena something to you and your h2b. It's your wedding, do it your way. Must admit I've been to a few eedding fayres but I've not booked anything from them! I've taken one or two of their ideas and then bought the stuff off ebay - just as good and far cheaper! enjoy your planning and welcome to the site :) it's soooo addictive x
