Went on holiday to cornwall this week where my dad side of family live and I mentioned to my dad previously if my grandad had some of my grans jewellery as she died in 1995 when I was 9 yrs old as I wanted to wear something of hers to wear for the wedding so while I was there my grandad got out all my grans jewellery and told me take what I want as he rather he gave it out now rather when he gone, the main thing he wanted to give me is a pearl necklace that my gran wore to her wedding and that was given to her by her gran so really old, it so pretty I'm chuffed he let me have it as it means a lot to me to have something of my grans at the wedding to remember her by and he happy I asked for something of grans for wedding as he wasn't expecting so brought a tear to his eye just can't wait to wear it now :) :) :) :) :)

if its really old, its no doubt genuine pearls and they are really valuable at the moment, not to mention the sentiment too so look after it and wear it with pride ;-)

Yeah the metal clasp has emerald and diamonds in and not been hallmarked think it at least victorian by the style of it, but it more sentimental to me then what it be priced at, gonna have to get it valued tho to make sure it covered on insurance at home

Disneyland that is lovely. My grandmother has offered the diamond from my late granddad great grandmothers eternity band and gypsy ring. So I'm going to use the diamonds in my wedding band.... The Scentiment is the best. The necklace sounds beautiful!

Yeah very sentimental as my gran wore it to her own wedding so means so much to me and will be passed down to my kids when I have them, my dad gonna dig out a pic of my gran wearing them :) defo my something old and borrowed as that was the idea I had when I asked for something of hers :)
